15. Mark Buehrle: Amazing consistency and some very memorable moments give me pause.

Did he mean that the way it came out?

I hadn't appreciated how good Rolen's case is until I looked at his stats just recently. Although I think Endy Chavez should come from out of nowhere and snag his plaque at the last moment.

The HOF Ballot Tracker is wonderful if you care about these things -- and I do -- because you can see the trends developing. One of the ESPN people, I think Olney, was lamenting the tracker because he said takes the surprise out of announcement day. I can live with that. Buster missing the point that having discussions about baseball's best players throughout December and January and not just one day is actually a good thing.

The downside is that you get to see some of these ballots and it drives you crazy.

Steve Wine, a recently retired, Miami-based AP writer, cast just one vote, for Carlos Beltran. At least he made a good choice. Because Philadelphia-based AP writer Dan Gelston also voted for just one player, only his was Jimmy Rollins, who polishes an MVP Awards that should rightfully have David Wright's name on it. And Boston-area sports editor Art Davidson, too, voted just once, and for K-Rod. Another Boston guy, Jimmy Golen, voted for three players - Andruw Jones, Gary Sheffield and Billy Wagner. And New Hampshire guy Alan Greenwood voted for just two, ARod and Manny Ramirez. So did the Post's Mark Hale.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette columnist Ron Cook didn't think anyone was worthy, turning in a blank ballot, and apparently hasn't filled one out in years because he can't support modern players. https://omny.fm/shows/starkey-mueller/ron-cook-hasnt-filled-in-his-mlb-hall-of-fame-ballhttps://omny.fm/shows/starkey-mueller/ron-cook-hasnt-filled-in-his-mlb-hall-of-fame-ball Maybe that outs him as the one guy who didn't vote for Jeter.

I predict no one gets elected this year. Fred McGriff goes in all alone.
