The Martoons clearly wanted to wait until after the Rule V Draft to complete the dealio. That way, if Magnum PI got grabbed, it would've been from the Mets and not them.



Very clever. They had the Mets agree to a backup plan in case Mangum got grabbed, he didn't, and now they can stick with Plan A.
