Tylor Megill rehabbing with Binghamton and preparing to rejoin the Mets as a relief pitcher for the rest of the season:



Date: September 1

Opponent: vs. Somerset

Tylor Megill enters game in top of sixth with Binghamton trailing, 4-1.

  1. Jesús Bastidas strikes out swinging on 2-2 pitch.

  2. Mickey Gasper strikes out swinging on 3-2 pitch.

  3. Oliver Dunn strikes out swinging on 3-2 pitch.



Date: September 4

Opponent: vs. Somerset

Tylor Megill opens game in top of first.

  1. Elijah Dunning strikes out swinging on 1-2 pitch.

  2. Everson Pereira strikes out looking on 0-2 pitch.

  3. Austin Wells strikes out swinging on 1-2 pitch.



You never want to make too much either way of minor league rehab appearances but, you know, tell me you're Edwin Diaz while not actually being Edwin Diaz.

Megill's first rehab appearance with Syracuse featured only one strikeout. He still got the side in order, on 10 pitches worth of efficiency, but this time he made his defense stay awake.

Pitched again yesterday here in town and had another strong inning. Seems like they are priming him for some fall bullpen help.



Guillorme in the lineup last night for Syracuse as well

Joel Sherman's column (linked in the rules thread) names Megil as a pitcher who could be adversely affected by the new rules about the pitch clock, since he is a deliberate worker.
