Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 This is the refrain of 2022, isn't it? There's a brief or extended delay at least once per game, but it feels more like three times, at least. It's a small tradeoff for finally getting umps off headsets and on earpieces when they talk to Chelsea, but why does it take MLB five years or more of eyerolling disruptions to integrate any kind of technology? They presumably have logistics employees to think these changes through, and they have minor leagues to use for test runs, but they get it farcically wrong each time.In many ways, the consistency of the bubbleheadedness gives me a comfortable feeling. It's like watching an episode of Family Ties and it's nonsensical that Alex would give some important responsibility to Skippy, and it makes no sense because everybody knows Skippy's gonna fuck it up, but Alex, smart as he supposedly is, does it anyhow, and Skippy fucks it up, but things are more or less OK in the end, and the family forgives Skippy because he's Skippy. You can be confident if you don't watch another episode for years, but tune in some afternoon when you're home sick, it's gonna play out the same way. "There seems to be some problem with the PitchCom." "Oh, that Skippy!"

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 It's a shame they didn't conclude that show by setting Skippy on fire and dancing around the post like the naked savages we all wish ourselves to be.
