Colors, size, and drop-shadows aside, is the font used on the Mets' road chestplate more or less the same thing Boston uses at home and on the road?

Not only to they both have the signature vertically centered serif, but if you compare the Y in NEW YORK to the X in RED SOX, they both put serif's just above and below the center of the letter when the center itself isn't available.



Looking at it now, it seems a better match with the Boston road top, where the letters are similarly ovoid. The Boston home top seems to be more elongated, with the inside walls of the D and the O almost parallel to each other.

What do you mean by "more or less"? They're not the same fonts if they're not exactly alike, which they aren't.

I don't think we should divide into Arisotilian and Platonic camps of ontology and tear at theories of likeness and universality for this.



If you don't feel there is a meaningful likeness, I'm good with that.

I can't find confirmation that the Mets have customized their font, but it is very close to "MLB Tuscan" https://www.dafont.com/mlb-tuscan.fonthttps://www.dafont.com/mlb-tuscan.font

BTW, i watched a little of the game on ESPN the other day and I have to ask...is the orange in the Mets jerseys more red now?

I think the red-ness is more tv/digital color rendition thing on our end. I've

noticed the orange on the Knicks uniforms is sometimes kinda red.
