We didn't start a thread for this week, but we've had a lot of cool business in baseball this week, including a 20-year-old Japanese pitcher only prevented from pitching two consecutive complete games by his manager's hook, and the U.S. Capitol being evacuated because they didn't know the Nats had scheduled a military flyover.

But then we have this Junior College action. Some pitchers just don't like giving up homers.

Miggy, on the cusp of 3K hits, is 0/3 in today's game but will get one more AB vs the Yanx in Detroit.

Yanx left 'em loaded in the 8th and trail 1-0 in the 8th

Marlins & Braves trying to bust the 4 hour mark.

9-7 Marlins starting the 9th.

Each team started the game by hitting the fist pitch they saw for a HR: Jazz Chisholm, Ozzie Albies

The week's recap wouldn't be complete without an "Angel Hernandez is still doing it" story:

The video is great - it may be one of the worst ball-strike calls since the infamous Game 5 of the 1997 NLCS. Schwarber is instantly tossed as he slams the bat and helmet. He proceeds to show the worst umpire in MLB where he was missing calls - outside, inside, high, low - you are fucking terrible Angel!

I didn't think that was the worst call, but you sure don't like to see Josh Hader get a gift, and I have little doubt that it was the culmination of a broader display of questionable plate umping.

This guy sure thought so.

It's almost like he's choosing his words so as to be able to unload without getting kicked out of the game.

Who, Schwarber? He got booted the instant he spiked his bat.

The call he blew up over was pretty much borderline but it came with one out in the 9th of a 1-0 game and apparently it was a building storm all night.

Gotta like his pantomime though: you missed em high, you missed em low, up and down!!!
