Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Well, now I see why we don't tend to send Alonso for an extra base.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Man, Rodriguez owes Gary DiSarcina a Christmas card.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 The camera keeps finding Jacob Barnes in the Sox bullpen. Even in that highlighter-colored uni, you can't miss him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Baez, we just needed contact there. You didn't need to hit one to New Hampsha.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 It would be so 2021 if that ill-fated send was the end of our scoring for the night.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 Add in 2d and 3d one-out, Baez and Alonso up, and no runs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Yeah, but at least they had to face a new pitcher who was on his game. When DiSarcina did that send, the Mets had the bezez loaded, no out, and a pitcher self-destructing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Not yet six full innings and yet headed for the three hour mark.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Nice homer, Alonso, but dudes, TAKE A STRIKE.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 I'm not even particularly sure I get the City Connect thing. I dial it up and the first description I see is "Nike has been working with each MLB team to craft a uniform that expresses the personality and communities of the team's home city."That's sort of a big part of what unis have been trying to do all along, no?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 The official scorer will have to decide on a winning pitcher ... if the Red Sox win, Gary.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 A big win on Sunday night, one more chance to get back in the race, and another terrible performance.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 the Mets have played nine straight regular season games that have lasted at least 3:30And the sad part is, there's been nothing unusual about this set of games. As a whole they haven't been high-scoring or particularly "strategic" to where a game is sailing along until the brakes get slammed on in the 7th inning. And it's not one of those Septembers of yore with 38 guys on each bench. These games have started slowly, muddled through the middle, and then crept to an eventual conclusion, several of them with me no longer in attendance by that point.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 They don't even have the 40-man roster to blame anymore. The most notable game lengtheners are that (a) three of them have come against American League clubs, and ( managers are going to the bullpen earlier in every game.Oh, yeah, © lots of calls to Chelsea.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Usually it's the mound conferences, pitching changes, and replay reviews which bring the games Up to three hours, but these recent games are usually past the one hour mark before they even hit the end of the 3rd. When that happens, 3:15 or longer becomes the base line with late game machinations just tacking onto things from there.
