After the inning, the ump asked to see his hat. Familia gave it to him and then his glove. The ump declined, with a, "No, I don't need to check the glove."



And Familia was all, "No, please, check it."

I put on the TV at 4 so the game was disappointing even before it began.

I'm not specifically questioning Gary DiSarcina's hold there, but third base coaches sure seem conservative the last year or two.



I don't mind it as much now that the sticky tape is banned and strikeouts are back down to a human level, but I thin third base coaches are watching their backs.
