This is BVW-level roster management. They have a 3-man bench today consisting of Maz, Nido, and Hager. Lucchesi is still on the roster. I'm not well-versed in the 40-man machinations but send Lucchesi on a rocket ship to Mars, or anywhere else, and call up a hitter.

Dammit. And now it's a 2-man bench.

The Mets IL has more talent than the active roster:

Conforto (unknown), Nimmo, JD, Guillorme, Almora.

Jake, Carlos, Noah, Lugo.

Maybe it's mild, he walked off pretty normal.

(I started in early on the Kool-aid)

It's a one-man outfield.

Maybe it's me, but McCann seems like he's behind on changeups.
And he stays healthy, unlike half the team.

Woooooooonderful.

I didn't understand why they'd sent Khalil Lee down with just three OFs and a gimpy McNeil on the roster.

I didn't say it was logical, I was trying to think like Sandy.

https://www.mlb.com/mets/roster/40-man/https://www.mlb.com/mets/roster/40-man/

If I'm reading this correctly, there are only two non-pitchers on the 40-man who aren't on the team or injured, Lee and Grullon.

That is so G-D odd. They had to ADD Hager to the 40 to bring him up, too. (Could've gone with Drury instead, who I KNOW has played all over the diamond.)

As per the wisdom of swapping out Lee for Hager, Mets Roster Central abides. The Mets now have two players in their lineup without a big league hit.

The only good part about watching Mets go down is knowing that I personally go up one notch on the infield depth chart.

Frustratingly enough, apart from Khalil Lee, the only non-pitcher the Mets have remaining on the 40 is Deivy Grullion ... another catcher.

Syracuse, continuing their terrible start, has their top three infielders (Drury, Tovar, Jackson) all hitting under .200. Tovar probably has the best case for a callup.

The best non-roster outfielder the team has available is Sebastian Elizalde, and he's at Bingo (who are off to a stunning 0-10 start).

Margot just got himself a hanger of a hanger.

The problem is that you don't have any confidence that this team can score four runs between now and Thursday much less over the next four innings.

I'm starting to believe that no team can score four runs in four innings.
