This is an important, scholarly, work from the real Mets Historian, not the empty suit that the media fawns over.

Well, I have been to only three Mets post season games; charting at 7,10 & 18

7. I remember not feeling cold with a wearing a light leather jacket in the rain. The experience was surreal before Ventura's ball lofted out through the raindrops. Octavio Dotel was throwing darts from a double jointed arm. I was in box 82E pretty close to Chipper and must admit he was as intense as it gets.

10. Waiting for Steve Finley to either come down with the ball or not. Cookie Rojas had a heated tirade with the 3b ump early on.

Oddly, what I remember as much as anything is I had never seen confetti at a baseball game. Shea shaking through Gary Glitter was cool.

18. Me and my brother were beyond cold and were getting on the 7 when Benny went deep. Crap.

My younger brother was an A's fan (and Mets) in 1973, Mom had warned us not to fight. In the end I sat inside a cardboard refrigerator box in the backyard late during game seven.

If someone had asked me how many post season games the Mets had played I would have guessed far less than 89.

Lotta memories, fond and otherwise, in that read. Great work.

This was a great read and I greatly enjoyed it.

I was surprised to see Game 1 of the 2015 NLCS so low; I recall the Mets went into that game having never beaten the Cubs before that year, and perhaps even as the underdog. By contrast, Game 4 of the NLCS that year seems very high. Yeah, it was the pennant clincher but it wasn't close and coming in 3-0 it lacked the drama of most other games.

The two World Series game 1 losses also seemed further away from the top than I would expect. Maybe that's just hindsight, or a personal predilection to rate extra inning games higher. I firmly believe that wins in those two games would mean the Mets would have 2 additional championships.

An epic undertaking. It took me two days to read the whole thing. These guys have been killing it during this pandemic. I'm positive that Jason Fry set a world record for most paragraphs ever strung together in one piece on the Mets career of Shaun Fitzmaurice. If you haven't been reading their A Man For All Seasons series, you're missing a ton of great Mets stuff. Just don't bother trying to figure out or anticipate which Met they're gonna assign to what year. It's so counter-intuitive.

Thanks for the stuff.

Glad you guys are enjoying AMFAS. We indeed have the Fitzmaurice beat covered. The Schmelz, too.

New eps continue to drop Tuesdays and Fridays through November 13 (when Felix Unger will be asked to remove himself from his place of residence).
