Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 Since that catch, a couple of breaks are suddenly breaking right for the Mets this inning. One more would be nice.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 I said, "Oooohhhhh!" in tandem with the guys in the booth
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 This has been one Fugly game so far (both teams and the HP ump) ... and there's still like two or three hours to go.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 It didn't matter but I agree with Gary about the decision to PH Dozier for Nimmo. Lefty/righty I understand but Dozier isn't very good and Nimmo excels at getting on baseball which was needed down 3. It worked out as the ump missed the call on 3-2.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Nice knock for JD! Look out now but the Mets are rallying
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 Half of me wanted Alonso to take a big turn there to force a throw, especially with a wet ball. The other half of me was glad Alonso didn't take a turn at all there, because he might have fallen on his ass on the wet turf.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 Sheesh, our booth loves their Cervelli.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 I was positive that Dom was going to tie it.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Weak AB there by Ramos & Smith leaves the Mets high & dry.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Gary: The Mets have not come from behind to win a game this season.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 Credit where it's due, man. Ramos stung the ball.He ran like a sloth, but that's another thing.Hey, did anybody consider sending Hammy out to second to run for Alonso?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Impressive inning by Diaz. He seems a bit more loose now that he's not closing.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Inside out hat? On. Let's do this

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Edgy--That q. was raised on Twitter (about Hamilton):@TimBrittonI wondered if he'd PR right away. I think because Dozier wasn't the tying run, they were saving Hamilton in case he could run for someone else. (Idk who that "someone else" would have been. They opted against Alonso, and Hamilton may have scored had he run for Pete.)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 Amed just swung at cow dung for strike three.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Guess the fishsticks are better than the rabblerousers.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Nimmo's stopping at 3d cost them a run and perhaps the game. I'm still surprised at Dom's failure to get the tying run in. Above it all, one minor leaguer after another and they lost.
