Imperturbable, but I think he looks like a real dude. He strikes me as the type of guy who was a real pain in the ass as a headmaster, but held the job for 50 years and alums never stop praising him after they graduate. They succeed wildly because of the #lifelessons he taught them, and they give generously back to the school, and regularly go back and visit, amazed to find that he still sets up his desk in the center hall rather than in any office, and everybody is afraid to tell him he's way past retirement age.



The world has passed him by (I mean, how in the world has every member of the Cobbledick family not changed their names?) but he's such an institution at the school, that to a lot of alums, he is the school. The board knows that the he's no longer an asset, and a lot of changes need to be made, but (1) none have the courage to tell him that, and (2) they're terrified that the alums who support him will stop the gravy train if he gets shoved aside in a public brouhaha.



He also looks like the founder of a small-but-elite regional grocery chain, where he's known to be found walking the aisles of his stores, making sure everything is clean and comfortable, greeting the shoppers and asking for their direct feedback about what they bought last week. In this version of his story, he's a CEO that's way past retirement, but none of the board has the guts to tell him.



I'm not quite sure why, as a young marine, he already looks to be in his 50s.
