Zachry once said he got some Getty gift certificates for appearing on Kiner's Korner, and then got rejected at Getty when he tried to use them.

He was an ornery Texas guy who mighta been better were it not for frequent elbow issues. As a rookie with the Reds, he got into it with some autograph-seeking fans and faced an assault charge that was ultimately dropped. I musta also have forgotten the tragic detail in the post report.
