nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 So, the new Out of the Park Baseball 21 is out, I haven't bought it yet as I mostly recently purchased OOTP 19 and there just arent enough changes/new features year over year to justify paying for what is essentially a roster update (ditto Madden which i'll buy for PS4 once every few years). But I was wondering who here plays, and if we had enough people to get some sort of online league going?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 I played two seasons back in the day. Enjoyed it but found it time consuming. I was trying to finish off a game with a big lead one night and fell asleep, and woke up having intentionally walked six or seven in a row. Still woke up and won that one though.I started out with the Mets in Terry's first season and I ended up winning 108 games in year two. I figured I had established my genius and I put it aside. I'm pretty sure Seawolf plays it religiously, and is currently up to like 2048 with the Mets and has won a dozen championships or so, getting 300 wins out of Yusmeiro Petit. Put I think he just GMs his teams. I tried to GM and field manage them at the same time.I like the idea, but everything is seeming cost-prohibitive right now. I need to either sell a manuscript or put the KISS dolls on ebay.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2020 Author Posted March 21, 2020 I also only do the GM thing until the playoffs, playing each game is too tedious and I like making the moves.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 I like game action. If I buy the download, I'd be happy to skipper some GM-only guy's team.I'm pretty sure The Old Mole plays too, but prefers historical teams. But I confuse OotP with Diamond Mind.
