Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 It's hard to admit after all they've done for the team this year, but right now, McNeil and Alonso are not helping the team much at all.I don't know necessarily how to address that, but let me put in one more plug for batting Nimmo leadoff.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Last thing I'd think of is pointing fingers at those two.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 15, 2019 Author Posted September 15, 2019 Not pointing fingers, but acknowledging that it's a tough time to see them slumpin'.My finger remains totally pointed at the manager.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Mickey gave Alonso Friday off, and it didn't help. Sometimes these things just happen.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I think Pete will benefit from three games in the thin air of Denver and three in the bandbox in Cincy.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I hope so, because every game is a must-win at this point.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 McNeil hasn't really been right since he came back from the injury. Hopefully he'll get his groove back quickly.

I still think it would help them both to bat them three and four with Nimmo leading off.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 This is Alonso's first full season in the MBL "life.' All Star weekend was a big moment for him. Add all he has done and I'd guess Petey is emotionally and physically spent.

Things didn't have to be so tight for the Mets at this point in the season where decisions get picked at. With failure comes finger pointing. Yes Mickey, I'm looking at you
