I think the small "a" Angels uni with the capital "A" cap was a one year only-worn during Ryan's first year with the Angels. I don't remember the Angels wearing powder blue in 1972. Of course, I might be mistaken. The 1980 WS was the first all powder blue Fall classic. Edited June 15, 2019 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 So what's more "Burt Reynolds 80's"? Powder blue unis or sticking your hands down your powder blue uni pants?Schmitty is two for two there.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 15, 2019 Author Posted June 15, 2019 He's also got pornstache and body hair. He totally could have been the Ginger Burt.

No one there remembers the Angels wearing powder blue in the early 70s either. They think that the lighting conditions make that jersey appear to be powder blue.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 15, 2019 Author Posted June 15, 2019 It could be a slight blue tint that only comes up in certain light, but I found that photo quickly enough because I thought I remembered the Angels in powder blue. That being said, I followed the Angels as little as any team back then, being in the American League West and seeming to be as fake a Hollywood team as there could be.http://tomstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/angels_ww.jpg>That's blue ... -ish, right? Maybe my eyes or my TV played tricks on me the only two times I ever saw an Angels road game back then.
