Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 I missed this game completely. What's up with Wheeler? Control was clearly an issue. Did he revert to old Wheeler?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Sort of. Except worse. The funny thing was that he was missing all over the place with his fastball. I think when he's gotten high walk numbers in the past, it was from nibbling with his slider.Hopefully, this can be a quick mechanical fix. He pounded the zone with the fastball the second half last year, sort of like good Harvey. Folks would foul two off and he could then throw them anything.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 He was all over the place AND nibbling. He was like Uber-OldWheeler. Super Saiyan OldWheeler. More OldWheeler than actual old Wheeler. It's unsettling.
