Josh and Howie were expressing certainty that Frazier would get the night off today, but they didn't want to sit him agin' the lefty.

Meanwhile, the Mets unveil their first all-righthanded starting outfield in forever.

First glimpse of the Giants this year — first since last June actually.
As mentioned by Gary a few days ago, the Giants have been muddling along in quiet mediocrity all year; haven’t been more than 5 games above .500 all year, haven’t been more than 5 below .500 either.
Currently they’re sitting at 61-64 and are coming off a three-game whoopin’ at the hands of the mighty Cincinnati Reds combined score = 20 - 6). Even we didn’t do that.

It doesn’t help when all your high-priced/big-name players are all in the midst of ‘Meh’ years themselves.
Buster Posey sports an acceptable but hardly All-Star OPS+ of 105 as does SS Brandon Crawford
Big off-season acquisitions Andrew Mc Cutcheon and Evan Longoria are at 109 & 88, while Hunter Pence (50) has missed much of the season and 2B Joe Panik (78) has never matched his first full MLB campaign. Their best hitter has been 30 y/o 1B Brandon Belt [.275/.366/.462 // 828 (104)] leads the entire team in WAR

And on the mound, Derek Holland (3.83 ERA / 1.31 WHIP); Jeff Samardzija (6.25 / 1.63 and injured), and even Madison Bumgarner (3.05 / 1.30) are just kind of muddling along too.
Their brightest new face has been 26 y/o rookie Derek, son of Ivan, Rodriguez (similar body, better hair) who’s been pitching to a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 14 games / 12 starts but he just hurt his hamstring while jumping over the dugout railing to join an on-field scrap (vs the Dodgers of course).

How does Ivan Rodriguez sire a similar-bodied son and he doesn't become a catcher. That guy had the catcheriest frame ever.

The kid is listed at 6' 1" / 215 so he's a bit more stretched out as compared to his 5' 9" / 205 dad, but still not quite your stereotyped long and lean hurler's build.
I think he came up as a OF but made the switch after not being able to hit enough.

Ronnie: I don't know why, but the whole league this year is having trouble hitting lefties.

Edgy: Not when the lefties are Vargas and Matz, they aren't.

I have this notion, that someday soon, perhaps next spring, Rosiario will have grown into that gangly body of his and be the dervish that prospect watchers thought he could be. But these days, he too often continues to look like a clumsy marionette out there, operated by an overexcited Von Trapp child. Especially when he's going back into the outfield.

Seems like that play where Longoria booted and recovered should have been a lot closer for a guy with Rosario's wheels.

When Rosario scored from first on the double in the first, he seemed to be grinding a little. He was still fast as hell, but his wheels didn't seem to be in alignment. He may be dealing with something.

Yeah, that was something!

I think it's always been that good, but now he's setting it up better with better location on the fastball.

Seven-pitch sixth.

Not to get ahead of things, but the Mets have a chance a their second complete game in a week.

He's definitely turned a corner. I don't know if that's Eiland's doing or whether he's finally healthy.

Now we need to get him some runs!
