Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 The bullpen gate opening is legitimately embarrassing as a Mets fan.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Sherlock needs to know his runners. Sending Flores on Fraziers double with only one out was really a bad send. Wilmer was gunned out by 15 feet.Should have had runners on second and third with one out. Instead the Mets end up with a runner on third with 2 outs. Of course, the Mets can't get a 2 out hit as Mesoraco strikes out to end the inning.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Yet another New York Mets pathetic ofensive outing.

It's criminal that DeGrom has the best ERA in the league and not only can he not buy a win, but the Mets find a way to lose the vast majority of his starts.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Lock me away where the silly boys go
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 I was browsing Strand bookstore the other day and came across (not literally) Ocasek's book of lyrics and poems.Something I never knew till just now, from Touch and Go:All I need is you tonightFlying like a cement kite, yeah
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 The cement kite is flying low and hard in the top of the ninth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 The Mets are lucky to get one out on that play. They screwed it up like four different ways.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 geez. Great job, Mets. Walk it off NOW!!!!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 great if Rosie and Dom can do this tonight
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Rosario lays down a beautiful bunt. Runners on second and third w/ one out.Smith grounds it to the mound for an easy out. Nimmo intentionally walked. Now it's up to Bautista to get the 2 out hit.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Who does he think he is, Wilmer?Waitaminnit!Did a Met actually put down a successful sacrifice bunt in the middle of all that? Will wonders never cease.Later
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 What a great ending. Too bad that deGrom couldn't get the W but at least the team does.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Not a fan of intentional walks in that situation. I'd rather face Nimmo knowing I had the luxury of some place to put him that face Bautista knowing I didn't have that luxury. Bautista draws an awful lot of walks too, which makes him that much more dangerous with the bases loaded. The pitcher tried to get ahead on him quickly, but it was exactly the pitch Bautista was looking for and the rest is history.
