The Mets have hired two new PA announcers: TV veteran Marysol Castro and local scholastic sports reporter Colin Cosell, whose last name connects him to the first pregame radio host in Mets history. He's Howard's grandson.

Alex Anthony was offed unceremoniously before the season (hints and allegations have it that he was heard telling an inappropriate joke). Rob Rush was filling in.

Howard, IIRC, had only daughters (2) so either one or both of the Cosell girls not only retained her name (single mom, divorce, etc.) but also passed it on to her kid(s) and eventually down to grandson Colin,
or Colin chose to adopt his grandpappy's name over his given one as a way into the business.
Greg Cosell, a football writer/talking head, is a nephew of Howard (brother's kid?) and therefore a one generation removed cousin of this guy.

Except that Cosell's remark was totally without malice while Barr is just a fucking idiot specifically looking to be provocative.
Not sure what's worse actually, that she made the remarks in the first place or that she's now blaming them on her use of 'ambien'.

I'm pretty sure that some time in his life, John Wayne Gacy used aspirin.
I'm also pretty sure that the odds of aspirin turning him into a serial killer are about the same as Ambien turning someone into a racist.

I liked Howard, too, his toupee and his orchestra.

Marysol Castro profiled by NBC here. Had to overcome an unfortunate childhood MFY affinity, perhaps attributable to growing up in a borough where it's easy to make that mistake.
