Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Entered the big leagues in style, joining the Mets in the post-season dugout by carrying a wounded Ruben Tejada on his back.[fimg=350:2w6maf6t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CRKjv8wWcAA9W84.jpg[/fimg:2w6maf6t]He came distressingly close to becoming the first player in a century to make his big league debut in the World Series, ultimately not only failing to appear, but looking on in disappointment as Raul Mondesi, Jr. did it instead.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Yeah, my main memory of him will be his appearance on the 2015 post-season roster, having never yet played in the big leagues.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 First major league homer came in his first game as a major league left fielder vs Kansas City, the game after which Syndergaard denied that he had a bone spur (though he did).If only Reynolds could have been confined to intermittent cameos/recurring debuts, I'd remember him fondly. A little exposure convinced me he's a modern-day Ron Gardenhire -- can do many things, none of them well. Maybe he has a heckuva managerial career ahead of him c. 2038.

Matt doesn't sleep well on planes, is the takeaway there.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 More cover memories. Was intentionally walked in front of David Wright with the game on the line. I remember thinking, wow, has David's career sunk to the point where they are intentionally walking Matt Reynolds?David came through and the SEEDS OF LIFE cover made a deep run in the TCD.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 SEEDS OF LIFE was a 2016 finalist, losing in the last round to CES BOOM BAH, 14 to 7.
