G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 Josh Edgin has altogether left the building, signing a minor league deal with the Orioles after being removed from the Mets' 40-man roster. He kind of burst on the scene in Spring Training 2012, showed some promising stuff upon his July recall. Has been around long enough to have given up the last home run a Met pitcher gave up to Chipper Jones, the HOF choice of 183% of CPFers.Best moment: Pulling out a save on a 1-2-3 DP off the bat of Mr. Bryce Harper when Familia was melting down last April in Washington.Worst moment: Missing all of 2015, but at least he got a taste of the next year's playoff race.Lingering off-field impression: In one of those surveys of what the players were into, his favorite show was some awful-sounding Duck Dynasty knockoff reality show.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 His removal from the roster despite his decent-ish stat line — in a year where bullpenners were in short supply and effective lefties not named "Blevins" were in shorter supply — suggested he had somehow made an enemy or two. Maybe FaFiF is right, and it was his TV show. His 1-2-3 in Washington seemed like the sort of moment that leaves the kind of impression that would buy you some juice with a team, but apparently not enough to save his rind. Alas, no.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 He was one of those stealth prospects, a central PA high-school wrestler type who I think our own Farmer Ted knew somehow. He looked like he could be better than OK before the arm injuries started happening. First, best and only No. 66 in club history of course.
