  1. ...I'm fairly convinced I'm aware of that and have yet to spell it incorrectly. Or at all, since I've yet to even refer to him by his name.
  2. 10-for-23 (.435) with 4 SB and a 180 OPS+ so far! The Mets had this sparkplug for three years and they never gave him a sniff o' the big leagues.
  3. Ottavino signed by the Yankees.
  4. The Mets have gone on a signing spree, inking Niko Goodrum, former future superstar Jon Singleton and Jose Marte (who?) to minor league contracts. I remember Niko Goodrum with the Rochester Red Wings. People would yell "Niko Niko Niko!" whenever he came up. They also signed a fella named Angel Montero. And they released some fella named Andinson Ferrer.
  5. I was going to say he keeps signing with teams because he needs more weed money, but I thought that was too mean.
  6. Sounds like a band from the '70s. Or the '90s. Or a '90s sitcom. Either way, the Mets brought aboard Niko Goodrum, who has 7 years and 415 games of big league experience under his belt, and Jon Singleton, who has 4 years and 269 games of big league experience...dating back to 2014...under his belt. Goodrum had some decent power-speed years with Detroit back in the late 2010s. Singleton was a top prospect who the Astros invested a long-term contract in, only to get fed up with him and eventually release him from said contract. He sat out a few years, then went to Mexico and resuscitated his career. The Brewers signed him, then released him, then the Astros signed him again. He still kind of stunk, but for whatever reasons teams—this time the Mets—keep signing him. The Mets also signed some no-name pitcher named Jose Marte who isn't interesting.
  7. 100%. Their magic number is only 155 now.
  8. Carl Warwick died. https://www.newsweek.com/sports/mlb/legendary-world-series-hero-dodgers-outfielder-passes-away-2055936 Who was Carl Warwick? Carl Warwick (1937–2025) was an American professional baseball outfielder who played six seasons in Major League Baseball from 1961 to 1966 with teams including the Dodgers, Cardinals, Colt .45s, Orioles, and Cubs. A Dallas native and standout at Texas Christian University, he signed with the Dodgers in 1957 and made his MLB debut in 1961. He was known for a strong minor league showing, particularly in 1959 when he was named Texas League MVP. Warwick's MLB career peaked during the 1964 World Series with the Cardinals, where he made a record-setting performance as a pinch hitter by reaching base in his first four plate appearances, finishing the Series batting .750 and contributing to the team's victory over the Yankees. Despite a brief decline in later seasons, he left the game with 363 career hits and returned to Houston to run real estate and travel businesses. He passed away in April 2025 at the age of 88.
  9. This website is slower than a snail riding a turtle walking through molasses on a -20 degree day!
  10. Lucas Duda started off 1-for-33 when he first came up, then he went 16-for-51 (.314) the rest of the way.
  11. I sure do wish we still had that Bassitt fella.
  12. Vasil finally debuted with the White Sox. He's got 4 IP now, 0.00 ERA.
  13. He's probably not. It's been two games.
  14. The day I made that post ^^ he finally debuted in the big leagues.
  15. I seem to recall #15 or 16 being Dan something. He was a front office guy with no experience that took the helm and that ruffled some feathers.
  16. #8? If it was, then it was later than I thought.
  17. https://media.tenor.com/85P58A9KugQAAAAi/april-april-fools-day.gif>
  18. I edited my post above. I can name a lot of the managers, but probably not the actual number.
