    Yeah, once again not every Mets fan in America lives in the five boroughs... ot has any idea what a NYC a subway sign looks like. KCMets where are you from? Oh that's right, Kansas City (honestly I imagine you do, I have no idea, don't tell I'm wrong because then I'll look more stupider than normal). How about we pick a design that the entire fan base can understand and relate to, not just the ones that live in the city itself, which represents abouts one-10 billionth of the US in term of geographical size? Don't tell me I'm wrong I'm all fired up and you can't stop me.

    1 & 2 are too basic with no real character, #3 is slightly less basic with slightly more character and #5 the off-center GCM is unappealing. #4 has a bit more pizzazz so that gets my vote.

    This game should be like 40-2 Mets. The people on the Israeli team are hardly formidable. This Agresti fella that's up at bat has been in pro ball since 2018, yet hasn't played beyond indy ball. And it's weak indy ball, too, the Frontier League.

    Hopefully when we move to our new home -- which I have fully embraced and endorsed without any pushback since day 1 -- the polling system will be a bit more standard. This is the only forum I've been on that tabulates results the way it does.

    Levinson with a JeruSLAM to tie it up. It's getting late in the game, I imagine Israel is looking to raise their score, just like they did Gaza. (Too soon?) Also, every time something is hit to left field they should say it was hit to the "West Bank." (The West Bank is ironically located on the east side of Israel. But it's on the west side of the Jordan River.).

    In other words, the Bochy one clearly wasn't a serious suggestion, but you took it as such, which raised eyebrows. (I spelled it out for those who have problems discerning meaning)

    Sorta kinda, but Mets fandom extends far beyond NYC and a lot of Mets fans don't know that stuff. It's still a pretty arcane name. Mets fans across the country know what Flushing and Queens are; not so much Willets Point. Not all of us live in the Five Boroughs.

    I think the goal of this whole project is to make it less esoteric ... a nod to an individual poster some of us don't even know does the opposite of that :/

    You're under no obligation to subtract, we're just trying to forge this project more to the standards of the members here, rather than trying to bring aboard the standards of the old place I ran this project. Instead of doing whole new polls and starting from scratch, we're doing the slightly easier method of removing people that AREN'T deemed worthy (by this community's standards). And, as stated, as the standards of this community vis-a-vis this project crystallize, we'll likely do "Veterans Committee" elections to give those removed (if we remove any) the chance to be reelected.

    By the way I'm not criticizing any ideas, this is how brainstorming works. Ideas are bounced off each other until the best one is proposed. It's like a Hegelian dialectic or something.

    What's Kranepool to 90% of Mets fans? Ed Kranepool was literally 60+ years ago now. If we're rebranding, we might want to update the image we're trying to project just a little bit. A lot has happened with the Mets since the 1960s and 1970s. Mets Magic, like Meet the Mets, is so basic that it's not memorable. It's easy to remember, but it's not memorable. Faith and Fear in Flushing is both easy to remember (alliterative with allusions to Metsly things) and memorable. Metropolitan Baseball is too vague. It could literally refer to a 40+ amateur city wood bat league. From Shea to Citi would be better as a book about the transitional time when the Mets were moving stadiums, otherwise its too specific and doesn't encapsulate enough (and the Mets also played at the Polo Grounds once!!). Amazin' Archive would be a good title for the archived UMDB page. Mets Grand Central is a decent take on the other name, though one likes the first option better.

    Well, we're not really an introductory website to the Mets nor are we a primer site, and Meet the Mets implies such a thing. Also, it's an insanely cliche line. It's so overused it really doesn't speak to any sort of uniqueness or brand this site might be trying to establish.
