1st in ERA. 15th in batting average. Defense might be weak, but it'll improve. I'm still bullish on this team. -

Looking good so far. Manaea pitching like an All-Star. Jorge Lopez has been a pleasant surprise so far, too. -
...annnnnnd we're back after a brief delay. Paul Meach is incorrect, though the first name is right. Roberto Alomar, Mo Vaughn, Steve Trachsel, Gary Sheffield, Sandy Alomar Jr. and Pedro Martinez are correct, while Randy Myers is incorrect. So far, we're at 10 of the 13 All-Stars guessed correctly—well done! The last three were all pitchers. Ron Swoboda is correct. Pinch hits is incorrect, though a good guess. Dave Kingman is correct, as well. Very well done. 1. Who was the first pitcher to hit a HR in Citi Field? Hint: Spent most of his career with the Pirates. IGT 04/01 - DET @ NYM - New Month, New Season

Do you see how awesome that lineup looks? Brandon Nimmo (L) LF - potential All-Star Francisco Lindor (S) SS All-Star Pete Alonso ® 1B All-Star Francisco Alvarez ® C top prospect/potential All-Star DJ Stewart (L) DH former top prospect Starling Marte ® RF All-Star Brett Baty (L) 3B top prospect Harrison Bader ® CF - Gold Glover Joey Wendle (L) 2B - All-Star If this team does not put it together at some point this year, I will be truly surprised. -
The Mets have starting pitching depth. Butto, Lucchesi, Scott, Hamel, Vasil. Not a lot of great names, but they're all relatively young names and not old, washed up trash heap "depth." But if they're going the trash heap route, Zack Greinke is still on the market.

I combined questions 2, 3 and 4 to perhaps simplify things. Which means we can add a couple new questions, with hints for the rest. 1. Who was the first pitcher to hit a HR in Citi Field? We're only two games in, we're only two games in... I still have confidence in this team. The rotation is actually solid. The offense is solid. The bullpen is solid. I still think they'll perform well this year. -
Alright boys, these questions have been hanging around too long. We're almost through all the trivia questions and will be resuming poems and so forth relatively soon. New hints added above.

LAAAts Go MAAAts - Syracuse Mets thread, 2024
Cowtipper replied to Fman99's topic in New York Mets Talk
That's actually a decent lineup. That's a major league lineup on some teams. The last time I saw the Syracuse Mets play is when I still lived in the Rochester area, but that was a few years ago now. -
Handful of assignments: 03/29/24 OF Joe Suozzi assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies. 03/29/24 RHP Hunter Parsons assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies. 03/29/24 OF Drew Gilbert assigned to Syracuse Mets. 03/29/24 RHP Christian Scott assigned to Syracuse Mets. 03/29/24 RHP Dominic Hamel assigned to Syracuse Mets. 03/28/24 OF Brandon McIlwain assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies. 03/28/24 SS Wyatt Young assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies. 03/28/24 LHP Danny Young assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Kind of a shame about Wyatt Young. I thought he was going to be a decent piece for New York, but he stalled last year and is back at Double-A. He hit .370 his first pro season and .352 in his first taste a Triple-A, but clearly he's not quite where he needs to be yet. As for Danny Young, it's never good when a guy with big league experience is sent to Double-A. That means you truly are just minor league filler. Scott and Hamel both intrigue me and I'm glad they're both just one step away from the bigs.
