  2. Answering the unanswered: Davey Johnson and Mike Ivie are tied with Darryl Strawberry for the major league record for most grand slams by a pinch hitter in a season with 2 (through 2005, at least). Johnson set the record and Ivie matched it in the same month (June) of what year? 1978 What fools! How can it be? I wasn't signed, they traded for me! And want an even bigger surprise? They gave away three of their guys! A mighty bat I sure wasn't wielding But at least I had flawless fielding; And when the Mets were finally through They traded me for something, too Who am I? Keon Broxton Who is the former Met who owns the Toronto Blue Jays' career record in hits? Tony Fernandez A strikeout pitcher I was not With New York, 9's all I got And just to continue that theme For my career, I had 115 I played for the Brewers for a while Add the Cubs, Blue Jays and Mets to my file And though my career spanned a decade It was in just six years that I played Who am I? Tom Filer I won't answer #5 as it is still a relatively new question. I'll post new questions later on.

  6. Padres up 2-0 in the 9th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Two-hit in one of the most important games of the year.
  8. Game over. Whatever. Mets are perpetual disappointments. What else is new.
  9. Braves win 2-1.
  10. I said the Mets should have traded him before the deadline to get something while he still had value. If they had just followed my advice, this wouldn't be happening right now. And, right now, he's pretty much valueless.
  11. He is the absolute worst "good reliever" the Mets have ever had. Worse than Benitez, worse than Diaz. Awful. I hate seeing him come in to pitch, because this sort of thing always happens.
  12. Walking a man in with a 4-0 count. What a loser.
  13. Garrett with his pube-y looking beard really, really sux.
  14. This team sux and also Garrett sux.
  15. Heart of the Royals order coming up.
  16. The Mets are the only team that is desperately trying for a playoff spot that is losing at the moment. Typical Mets!
  17. See you in 2025.
  18. Teufel is correct! A new question has been added. Kevin McReynolds is correct, however. A new question has been added. 1. Davey Johnson and Mike Ivie are tied with Darryl Strawberry for the major league record for most grand slams by a pinch hitter in a season with 2 (through 2005, at least). Johnson set the record and Ivie matched it in the same month (June) of what year? Hint: Joe Torre was the team's manager that year. Nino Espinosa led the team with 11 wins. Hint: "Shadow Dancing" by Andy Gibb was the #1 song that year. Hint: This was the year when Grease and Saturday Night Fever ruled the box office, and disco was at its peak. It also marked the release of the first commercially successful arcade game featuring a space invasion. Hint: Former Mets Aaron Harang, Endy Chavez, Jason Bay and Chris Capuano were born this year. Aramis Ramirez, Jimmy Rollins, Kyle Lohse, Chase Utley and Victor Martinez were also born this year. Hint: The Mets were 66-96 that year. 2. What fools! How can it be? I wasn't signed, they traded for me! And want an even bigger surprise? They gave away three of their guys! A mighty bat I sure wasn't wielding But at least I had flawless fielding; And when the Mets were finally through They traded me for something, too Who am I? Hint: The answer hit .143 with New York. Traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the New York Mets for Adam Hill (minors), Felix Valerio (minors) and Bobby Wahl. Traded by the New York Mets to the Baltimore Orioles for international bonus slot money. Hint: Also played for the Pirates and Mariners; played for the Mets in 2019. Hint: This speedy outfielder once stole 20 bases and hit 20 home runs in a single season for the Milwaukee Brewers. Known for his impressive defensive skills, he later had brief stints with teams like the New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles. Hint: He's the only major leaguer with his first name. Though another one, surnamed "Kela," had a similarly spelled first name. Hint: https://i.imgur.com/AilyXQo.png> 3. Who is the former Met who owns the Toronto Blue Jays' career record in hits? Hint: Was a five-time All-Star, four-time Gold Glover. Had 2,276 career hits. Also played for the Padres, Indians, Reds, Yankees and Brewers. Hint: This talented infielder was known for his clutch hitting and played a significant role in the Toronto Blue Jays' success during the early 1990s. He had a memorable moment in the 1993 World Series, contributing to the team's first championship with a key hit in Game 6. Hint: Traded by the San Diego Padres to the New York Mets for a player to be named later, D.J. Dozier and Wally Whitehurst. The New York Mets sent Raúl Casanova (December 7, 1992) to the San Diego Padres to complete the trade. Traded by the New York Mets to the Toronto Blue Jays for Darrin Jackson. Hint: https://i.imgur.com/jqKiUPcm.png> 4. A strikeout pitcher I was not With New York, 9's all I got And just to continue that theme For my career, I had 115 I played for the Brewers for a while Add the Cubs, Blue Jays and Mets to my file And though my career spanned a decade It was in just six years that I played Who am I? Hint: Pitched for the Mets in 1992. Hint: This player holds a unique record in Major League Baseball, boasting an undefeated 7-0 record with the Toronto Blue Jays, making him the only pitcher in history to leave a team with more than six wins and no losses. After his playing career, he transitioned to coaching, contributing to various minor league teams, including stints in the Yankees and Phillies' systems. 5. From the back of a baseball card: "This player was a solid middle man for the Mets in '90 after coming over from the Dodgers in the off-season. A very slow worker on the mound, he throws a fastball in the 90s and an excellent curve. It took this player nearly three years to re-learn how to pitch without relying on sheer power after he was felled by arm troubles in '85. He was a starter when he first came up to the majors and in '84, he led the National League with a 2.48 ERA. "He's a veteran who knows how to close the door," said Dodger coach Ron Perranoski. "With this player, you're seeing consistency." Who am I? 19. I'm not enthused.
  20. See you in 2025.
  21. Braves tied it up, 1-1.
  22. I like baseball.
  23. I hope the Mets win.
  24. I'd love for Senger to make the roster. He could be this generation's Joe DePastino or Joe Hietpas. He's been waiting since 2018 to make his debut!
