  1. Okay here's the plan - We wait until we get a new poster, welcome them abordick, blah, blah, blah... Then one or all of us baits them into a flame war (all of us - how much fun would that be?) or some other such nonsense and starts using words or phrases like 'stalag' or 'German engineering'. When they finally write 'Hitler' or 'Nazi' we all pipe in with 'Godwin's Law - thread over!' The admins close the thread and we go on about our business like nothing happened. How freaked would you be if that happened to you? They'll think we're a bunch of wack jobs.I nominate cooby.

    Looper.

when was the last time the Mets had a closer that you actually were pretty sure would get the job done no matter the situation when his number was called? Why you always gotta be difficult?
  3. Oooh, I like that. Can't wait til I get to write: "HA! You said Nazis/Hitler! This thread is ovah Rovah!"

    Looper.

I would say Benitez as well but only because the stats back him up. Not like I was ever supremely confident with 'Mando going to the mound in a game like last night's (not like last night's game was 'big' or anything...).It looks like most of us would agree that if given the choice last night we would have gone with a vintage 'Mando over Looper.Fine, but lets not pretend that we wouldn't be as nervous if not more so if it was 'Mando out there last night instead of Looper.'Kay?Which begs the question - when was the last time the Mets had a closer that you actually were pretty sure would get the job done no matter the situation when his number was called?Franco? Orosco? McDowell?

    Looper.

Last night same situation. You have a choice to call Armando Benitez or Braden Looper for the 9th.Who's closing your game?
  6. Mr. Dickshot's been dying to use that Warriors pic for what - two days now?Nice placement Johnny.
  7. Derek Jeter.I appreciate his talent (no, really I do) and the fact that he's a great ballplayer that I would like to have on my team. Well actually I would rather have a ballplayer LIKE him, just not HIM.I just hate the fucker. There's a slight chance that it might have something to do with the team he plays for.
  8. Man is she scary.OE: Not your quasi-mother-in-law Rotty, I was talking about Suzyn Waldman.
  9. That's very sweet.I feel like Bill Clinton standing on 125th street right now.
  10. I just hope there are no skeltons in her closet. If you recall, my secrets came very close to derailing my campaign. That being said - cooby for cappy!
  11. Well thanks a lot.And I believe that my captaincy was revoked by Edgy a week or so ago when I admitted to leaving a game at Shea before it had ended.
  12. Fuck Tino Martinez.Boy am I in a mood today or what?
  13. Wasn't Ryan Anderson the 6'10" kid that was being hailed as the next Unit?
  14. Oh please.Don't get all victim-like on me. How the hell was I to know you're diabetic? And even if I did I wouldn't make fun of it.I was kidding with you and everybody (except you it seems) knew it.And if you are going to take everything everybody says here literally then I would suggest that Mr. Sabremetric add some Kleenex stock to his sad portfolio.]I really don't know whether I would go for the trade or not.Unfortunately now I can't comment on that.If I offended you I apologize but c'mon man.
  15. It was fun though.I hated John Tudor like cancer. Was it '86 when the Mets went down there and swept an early season 4 game series? That was just so sweet.
  16. So you are saying that you would NOT approve a Giambi for Cameron trade and you just posted it to see reactions? That you recognize it for the insanity that it is and that you in fact are medicating?
  17. Sorry MFS you're not getting off that easy. You posed that trade as a valid option and now rather than defend it in the face of ridicule you provide us with a list of Eye-talian players as if to say that your WATP was tongue-in-cheek.Nope. Defend your trade or admit that it is/was a ludicrous idea and you had accidentally over-medicated 30 minutes before you posted..tick, tick, tick....
  18. Yeah right its not like Pat the Bat is exactly napping you know? And I'm sorry if I came across as being sarcastic in my response to the Thome question. I wasn't. I really do find it interesting that that's what we all think when a slugger suddenly stops slugging. Its not just an 'off year' anymore.
  19. Edgy DC wrote:...is Thome really this cooked? Do you suspect Giambi Syndrome?Interesting isn't it? Seems like guys aren't allowed to have bad years anymore without the 'Giambi Question' rearing its ugly head. What about Burnitz a few years back? Bad season or first year off the juice?Baerga (sorry cooby)? Alomar? Vaughn?
  20. Gotta hand it to you Edgy, you can be pretty funny when you want to.
  21. He's buttoning his shirt wise-ass.I live in Westport, CT man, the only thing that comes close to a gang out there are the 3 10th graders that hang out in the Starbucks parking lot chugging espresso for the caffeine high.Edgy DC wrote:That kid in the middle row to the left flashing some sort of gang sign?
  22. ="metirish"]I wonder why that is, any reasons why Kris gets all the run support?"I reward the boys for a job well done..."
  23. Check 'em out...
  24. Hmmmmm, let me think about that one....No thanks.
  25. I hope you're right but things could get ugly quick if they don't.
