Reyes speed is sick. He beats out a grounder to short short.

TransMonk wrote: I love this lineup! Imagine what they could do if everyone was healthy and all at their A game at the same time...I don't think we've even seen that yet. But with Delgado and Floyd looking like they are coming around...we could see the full power of this offense pretty soon. Cool. I hear ya. Reyes and Wright in a lil mini funk right now-Imagine this team firin' on all cylinders.....its scary. Im looking foward to these types of nightmares. (nightmares for the opposing team, that is)

Beltraan lines a wicked shot down into right and Berkman plays it into a triple. Damn! They just say its been called a double and an error. That was a triple.

Iubitul wrote: Darling made a comment about the ball not carrying well tonight after Valentin's homer - he would know more about how the ball carries at Shea than I do ;-) Me three. Maine with another nice frame. Reyes will lead it off in the 5th .

Iubitul wrote: the heavy air helped that - I think it would have been out of his reach on almost any other night... I thought hot and muggy was better for hitters. Well,....I aint no Mr. G, thats for sure.

And Cliffy just misses one - hits a drive foul into the 2nd deck in right. Man he drove that. Ends up poppin out. It sure is good having Floyd back, and playing great to boot. If he stays healthy and plays like this----yikes. I pity the NL East. Nady rips a double down the 3rd baseline and maine will try for his 1st MLB hit--or walk--Ill take a walk.

Iubitul wrote: Nice catch by Cliff as he brings back a home run.... He had to time that perfectly--off the bat I thought that was a gonner 4 sure. If i can get a pic of that catch Ill post it later in game.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a catch by Cliff Floyd!!!! May have robbed a homer there. he had to fly to make that grab--wowzers!
-
Another productive out. Delgado rips a line fly out to center and LoDuca tags to give the Mets 5.
-
CarlosBee with a productive ground out to 1st-moves LoDuke to third. 1 out- CarlosDee up.
-
LoDuca leads off with his 23rd double of the season- and its Beltraan up..... (yea-already has tied Mets RBIs for CF-single season with 79)
-
Maine with a nice little lead. I love watching Beltraan track a fly ball. He's just so smoooooooth. Asstros go down in order in the 3rd. 4-0 Metsies.

="Iubitul"] The ducks are now in the dugout as Valentin and his porn star mustache go KABOOM
-
VALENTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRAND SLAM!!!!!!!!!!
-
Floyd with the good eye works the count to 3 and 2 and- wow- then hits into a sure double play to 1st. But Wrights called safe at 2nd - Everett off the bag - they dont get Cliff at 1st. Everybodys safe. We got ducks on the pond.....
-
< Im honored to be Jose Reyes for these few posts. Wright follows with a single up the middle. 1st and 2nd for Cliffy.

Johnny Dickshot wrote: Duque needs more rest? The way he was sweating in Chicago--I thought they just needed an extra day to air out his uniform. Delgado starts the inning with a lead off walk.

Phils are playing the Braves in Philly- They are knotted at 2-2. Maine has a nice second frame, striking out two Asstros. Huffs single the only blemish. Mets have the meat of the order up in the 2nd.

martin wrote: i hope maine's fantastic performance tonight will be the final straw omar needs to decide to stand pat and not bring in any wierdo starters not named barry or dontrelle. 1st inning was a good start as Maine gets em 1-2-3, on 6 pitches. Reyes Ks, LoDuca lines out to left and Beltran lines out to right center in the Mets half. Muggy out--should be a good night for hitters. 0-0 after one.
