  1. Delgado leaves the game. Carp. CARP. CARP. CARP. CARP. CARP. CARP. CARP. CARP. CARP. CARP. !
  2. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*Z pulls out a clump of hair. Castro misses a granny by >< that much. In Philly: Rollins singles, steals second, steals third, and Utley drives him in with a sac fly.

  4. Delgado hit by pitch, and it looks bad. Right in the wrist as he tried to check his swing. Bat broke. Wrist? Hope not.
  5. OMG, Reyes flies out on a full count and they boooo him. I typed somewhat of an explaination a page back Meterish. Ramirez was hit by that pitch, no doubt. How it was not called a strike.....I have no idea. The ball never got to Castros glove! It had to hit something. And it was RIGHT in the strikezone, and Ramirez was leaning over the plate. It hit him on his wristband, leaving no mark. I expected Willie to pop out and ask what the hells goin on? Glavine wanted to know. Castro wanted to know. If I was the manager, I would have wanted a detailed description as to what the umpire was doing there, pitch by pitch through that at bat. We get one back. 7-1
  6. Willis will challenge us. We will score more than 7 runs.
  7. I hope the Mets have heated up their hitting sticks. Nice K by Sosa. Big.
  8. Anyone who isn't watching. Leading off the game, Ramirez was hit by a pitch, but the home plate ump did not see it. Now that ball had to hit something, because it never got to Castro, so everyone in the world figured it hit the knob of the bat and was a strike. So when Ramirez walked, we all had him at ball 3. But home plate ump Joe West had him at ball four, because he must have called that pitch a ball. And even though the Mets were not clear on what happened there at the time, Willie did not even step out to question it. And thats all for Glavine, who I don't think was pitching as horrible as this inning indicates, and his day is wasted. Damn.
  9. I guess we get to see who the REAL Met fans are folks. Hey, we knew we had to score some runs today.
  10. These have not been bad pitches.
  11. OOOOHHHHH NOOOOOOO!
  12. Lets get two and get outta this.
  13. Great! Ump already is a factor. Get out there Willie! Say something!
  14. And we are underway.
  15. I love this pic. Sandy looks like he's Bruce Lee in his prime fighting thugs
  16. Yancy Street Gang wrote: A no-hitter means nothing to me. It wouldn't have sustained me for even 24 hours. different strokes I guess. I tend to think more in terms of Met history. I've always considered the post season, when the Mets get there, simply more Met games to watch. Its a plus.

By the fifth, I was thinking, "Well, if we miss out on the playoffs, but get a no-hitter here, I'd almost call it a wash." No freaking way. Oh, I would have. I just mentioned to someone last week or so: Mets never had an MVP or a no hitter, and I really thought that I was gonna finally see an Met MVP. And truth is, I'd prefer to see the no-no go down even more. Baseball is such a funny game. I feel Wright has pretty much fallen out of the MVP race (he could change all that tomorrow, but he'd have to something pretty amazin') and I would have just been on cloud nine for the winter if Maine did that other thing today. If the post season and the MVP got pissed away, and we got that no hitter today, I would have embraced it and it would have sustained me.
  18. To the Washington Nationals with the sign guys best regards:
  19. I tip my hat to Rauch for not pitching around Howard. Unfortunately, Howard also tips his hat to the home crowd following that homer.
