  1. When the Mets cut Cora, called up Fernando Martinez and made Ruben Tejada the everyday second baseman, David Wright said the moves sent mixed signals about the teams intentions the rest of the season. Since then, Martinez was sent back to Class AAA Buffalo, causing only more confusion. This concerns me right now more than anything. The organization should at least be clear on this. Are they looking foward to next season or are they still working on bettering their standing this season. It is possible at this point to tread up the middle of that decision (might even be wise) but it's not fair to fans. Because, if there is still hope in eyes of management, we want them to be fielding the best possible lineup whenever possible. Even Manuel is confusing things now. He says we are still fighting for this season, but then he's giving Tejada this extended look which screams "MY PRIORITY IS THE FUTURE". Which is it ? Come-on. I'm willing to get on the same page if they can decide what page we are on.
  2. kool gig. I should have gotten Swan. Not from the drawing but cause I should have remembered he was on this squad. I was a Swanny fan. He reminded me a lot of Seaver and I hoped he would do a third as well.
  3. So I get to see us lose twice today. Isn't that special?
  4. Yow. Just saw Ikes foul blast. And he singles and this is where I came in. Yea, even the booth called for a PR for Davis if he should reach. They did touch on it after the single but didn't dwell on it. When you are in the 9th, down by a run, and a slow guy gets on, AND you can easily afford to do it (Castillo 2 run, Hessman to 1st if we tie it) its just good fundamental baseball to do that. I don't wanna get stuck on this but win or lose, we need to at least do these kinds of things right.
  5. Ugh, the pain I am experiencing watching Santana pitch so awsum and knowing he is not gotta get a win here. Someone hit me upside the head with a brick please.
  6. 6. Rodney Allen Rip Em lol
  7. If you haven't seen it try and catch the "Best Of Lou" collection of clips they have been running on ESPN. I didn't realize it til I saw these clips. I am gonna miss this guy. I've seen the bit 3 times so far today and the one clip, where he goes to kick the hat and misses it, cracks me up every time.
  8. I'm in the 8th. Should I even watch the end of this? Has the season itself been enough torture? I guess I do wanna see that next Davis at bat, from what I read here.

I tried to collect them all. Maybe they did that a few times over the years, I dunno. I remember the one of Willie Mays because he was making a basket catch with an actual basket, IIRC. AWSUM! Haven't seen that for over 30 years! ty sir
  10. Tabata? Who the fuck is Tabada? Ew, bad pitch by Santana. May as well have let him put it on a tee.
  11. I think I have to declare myself officially stumped on those last 3.

  13. Just saw the Milledge homer. Pitch up in the zone. Santana knew it was gone right off the bat, and simply lowered his head. Man, that was crushed. Damn you Lastings. Damn you.

And I remember when Doc came along and totally rejuvenated my interest in baseball cards. Maybe everyones interest. His Topps rookie card was such a blah looking card but I remember when I opened a pack and it was in there I felt like I won the lottery, or just found one of Willie Wonka's golden tickets.
  16. 7= *crosses fingers* Buzz Capra?

  18. G-Fafif wrote: Bottom right Section 6: Roy Staiger Damn, that's his name. I could not remember. I was thinking Ron or Rod. I knew his 1st name was 3 letters and started with an R. I think if I remembered it was Roy his last name would have come to me.
  19. 1, top = Bob Apodaca?
  20. Does one guess per post mean one guess per person? Hope not. I wanted to give others a chance but I can't wait any longer >< 3, leftmost (with guitar) - Bud Harrelson?
  21. ...joining to the Dodgers fulfills a childhood dream. He was born and grew up about a 20-minute drive from Dodgers Stadium, so sad though he is to leave the Mets, he lands in a welcome environment. Its tough to leave, he said. But its a good spot for me. Thats my team. Thats the team I grew up watching. It was a childhood dream to play for the Dodgers. Kool beans for Throbarjas.

  23. That is a kool drawing and would make one crazy belt buckle. Section one, bottom right: Skip Lockwood?
