  3. Benjamin Grimm wrote: My guess was six games too optimistic. Not too bad, I guess. I hope that next spring I have (legitimate) reason to predict them to win 90 or more. I'd have been up there with you if I predicted. As a fan what's the use of not being optimistic? If I couldn't be optimistic I'd end up following them like I did in the late 70's and early 90's, which was from a distance.
  4. Why would Hawkins not be available?
  5. I'll take those cheapo runs Gary. No problembo. Its those little things we gotta do. Make contact in that spot Young was in. Even a dribbler could plate a run. To many Ks happening in that spot for the Mets. Good to see. FF? boooo
  6. Young likes Piazza. 3-2 Mets.
  7. Do it for Piazza Eric.

  9. Yea,we needed that. It's go time Laggy.
  10. This is a neat lil news segment about the park. Why do they call it that? Huggins-Stengel Field: Baseball history still standing in St. Pete with Yankees, Mets, and more http://www.wtsp.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=302730
  11. I'm gonna have to watch some of that no-hitter.
  12. The 31 patch on the caps is a nice touch. A marketing ploy that I may just have to fall for.
  13. It'll be very anti-climactic if we just sputter out of this season without a fight in these last two innings. LETS
  14. Many pictures out there like this, that show the old lay of the land, in this case the Huggins Field outfield area, left to center.
  15. Nice to see the stands with people in em.
  16. Okay, I'm here for the duration. People who have called me on the phone today during this game must think I'm a real dick. I'm like "yea, okay, whatever, gotta go." Actually I don't say that, but I want to. Did he say Chris Jones?
  17. Edgy MD wrote: I'd keep him in indefinitely. Last day of the season. Go ahead and blow your arm out. Agreed again #1. I'll be in my ready room.
  18. This, I think, is a view of Huggins field from under my water tower. 1920's, no specific year given. You can see the lake out there. That's Crescent Lake. Before they lured the Yankees & Ruth there (and for a short time later, until renamed Miller Huggins Field) it was known as Crescent Lake Field.

  20. I saw up to the Young throw to the plate, and then did catch the tag on the Lagares throw. On the Young one, he was surprised the guy kept going.
  21. What an exciting inning. I assume. I missed most of it. Saw the last minute.
