He's down, Logan Verrett called up I'd be such a bad G.M. or manager. After calling him up from A I would have to give the kid another inning, another chance just to get through an inning. Or even just close an inning, get one out. And then send him down. But I guess if he messes up big time again, he's even more fucked up. Still, they put the kid on the fast track and then traumatize him. I know it's a business and all but still, you're dealing with people.
  2. Great words from the guyz regarding Mr. Doubleday.
  3. RIP Nelson.
  4. Oh. I didn't know about Doubleday. That sucks
  5. Well, our guys have been playing pretty good baseball lately, but I foresee no comeback here. 8-0 Bluebirds
  6. I feel for this guy. Could you imagine going from A ball to a Major League mound. I'd be a wreck. Ha, Ronnie says he feels for him too.
  7. Aww shit. get him outta there.
  8. Awww. He's nervous. And possibly stupid. Get the DP Akeel! GAH! Come ooooon. A bunt. And of course we fall apart.
  9. Shaddup Blue Jays. He was safe. I'm a little surprised, stealing there.
  10. Nice hitting Mr H. Lets get a few guys on for Duda. LGM!
  11. Wow. We double up Reyes around the horn! Tejada has been playing a very impressive 3rd base.

After the closeup they showed of the warning track "turf", I'm mystified. Do they sprinkle it with dirt? Ground-up rubber tires (and similar stuff). It's been used on turf fields for years, although lately there have been reports of cancer causing ingredients in those mini-pellets causing concern where it's used in playing fields for schools or parks. Wow. Re: Bad hitting teams: TruDat.

  14. Niiice. Cuddy drives one into the gap. That must not be like the old fake turf cause that should'a zipped right thru to the wall.
  15. HA! Anyone with legs on the Jays sucks!

If you watch another team as much as we watch the Mets, wouldn't we feel the same way at times watching that team? I have to tell myself yes. Or I think I'd have gone insane long ago.

The runner at first took off, and then the runner on third took off for home. The Mets sniffed it out and got the runner in a rundown, tagging him for the third out. TY. Ha. Somebody sucks. Replay just popped up. I'll play it next break. It is Valencia who sucks. That read as exciting but witnessing it, it viewed as stupid. Heads up in the infield though.

  19. This is an extremely boring looking ballpark. Remember when the cutouts were new & different looking. I never liked em. And I didn't know that stuff about the warning track. There oughta be a rule. Using turf there negates the reason for a warning track.

  22. Edgy MD wrote: He goes today against Lago de Sal. I'd guess it's his last go, but there's a day off on the 22nd and another on the 29th, so there's no immediate need for a sixth starter. I'm going with Sunday, July 5th in LA. I second that emotion.

They mentioned another player pitching one inning, an infielder, and supposedly Chase Utley chewed out the Phils pitching coach on the mound for keeping Frenchy in for so many pitches. I don't know how they know that's what Chase was saying (he was flapping his gums) and if that was just speculation (they didnt report it as such-but again, not paying full attention).

Desmond, 30 in September, can be a FA after 2016 The 31 RBI is what impresses me the most. He's not a one trick pony. He's not a fantastic hitter but he will poke it in an RBI situation. Even though he's even at 10/10, my judgement of him at this point is on the positive side. He will drive in runs. He will make errors. So far his O outweighs his errors in my mind, but it's awfully close. I see him breaking away if he can hit a dozen more and drive in 80.
