  2. I still don't know what to make with Wright. He's maintained he could play with it. There's no damage or anything, but he got the shot. Is he just going to play in a couple of days when it settles in? Or is he setting up for tearing his body in half the next time he takes a hard swing? Is it possible that Wright's going to insist he's fine in a couple of days, claim the shot healed him, and just ignore it now that he knows nothing is wrong? This is the guy that refused an MRI and played with a broken back for a month.
  3. I like Herrera too, but it sounds like the Mets are liking Olsen or Nitwisof whoever more. Is Herrera getting a short shrift cause he's short?
  4. I'm adopting them as my AL rooting interest this year after I picked them to lose to the Mets in the WS last year.
  5. Torn Meniscus for Hulk Hogan. surgery tomorrow.
  6. We gotta start cranking these out. Jon Rauch is next if we're going alphabetically right? Rauch had a 4.85 ERA with Toronto last year, across 52 IP. 11 saves (of 16 tries) 2010 he had a nice year with the Twins, 3.12 ERA across 57.2 innings. 21 saves. He also struck out 7.2 per 9, compared to 6.2 last year. (career average is 7.2) His career ERA is 3.82. He seems to be being pegged as a 'closer type' despite not really having established himself there roughly ever. Seems to me like he's a prime candidate to be Aaron Heilman'd. He's probably ahead of Ramirez in the depth chart, but shouldn't be. I'm going with 3.9 ERA, 55 IP, 8 saves. Mediocre, has some good stretches and bad stretches, but doesn't become or hold the closers job. I'd love to see him pitch innings after Daniel Herrera, just because it'd be funny in contrast.

I got it on Vita. I don't have much time devote to gaming these days, as I'm effective working 3 jobs so I can only play on the go. But this will change soon, and I'll double dip for the PS3 version for sure. The Show games tend to keep their value remarkably well. I guarantee you, you won't get it for less than 40 bucks until after the ASG, at the earliest. Ceetar wrote: Back-logged (As usual) for video games, so going to pass this year. Bad year to skip it. The improvements they made to physics engine, particularly the ball physics, are outstanding. stop that! I'm serious! I told my wife (who's a Resident Evil/zombie fan) that she can buy me that game for my birthday if she wants.
  8. Ashie62 wrote: So who plays 3B in April when Wright is out? Turner? official word still seems to be Wright. but yeah, Turner/Cedeno is next on the depth chart.
  9. metirish wrote: Jon Heyman ? @JonHeymanCBS Wright and byrdak flying to ny to be checked out. wright may need shot. #mets what happened? not healing properly. apparently they're thinking about ultrasound guided cortisone shot, but it's hard to know for sure because most of this is beat writers and Mets execs acting as doctors. I imagine the doctor he sees tomorrow will have the real info.
  10. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Actually, the error leading to Santana's unearned run was on Cedeno who booted a grounder at 3rd. Nice that Muffy and Loewen got their knocks off a lefty. oh right, I forgot about that one. he nearly threw it away and Thole made a heads up play backing up first.
  11. MFS62 wrote: Just checked in on the game 4-2 bad guys. Were any of those runs charged to Santana? Did Schwinden inherit the runners or were they his? And, with Wright out for another week (as per Yahoo sports), why isn't Zach Lutz getting some time at third? Later official and over. 1 unearned charged to Santana on a misplay by Loewen. The other's were Rauch. Schwinden let up the unearned, come in with the bases loaded, but got the next guy. Because I guess Lutz isn't a real option at third as a backup? I imagine he'll get some time here and there though.
  12. boo, it's raining. who's idea was this?
  13. no Ralph. Tuesday though.
  14. Loewen evades the tag on the sac-fly by Satin to get to third. 1-0 good guys.

  16. Johan strikes someone out, makes Bonifacio look silly. And all is right with the world.

  18. SNY and WFAN today. and mLB Network supposedly. Kevin and Ron. haven't mentioned Kiner but he usually does pop in in spring right?
  19. Edgy DC wrote: Torres is healthy? Not in the lineup today. played yesterday though.
  20. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: metirish wrote: Mets Willets Point wrote: Wow. Beautiful. Nothing good has happened for the Mets since then. goosebumps right now watching that Same. Lunchpail was only 6 months old then and smack in the middle of his worst sleeping habits of his life. Wifey who was absorbing much of that abuse was sleeping too and generally in a rotten mood. I was trying desperately not to shout or land too hard on the floor when I jumped. But I felt the catch was sort of a bonus. If it did go for a HR, I'm not sure how crushed I'd have been since I felt we were already doomed to lose when Valentin didn't get the runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs the previous half-inning. The whole night was spooky and weird like that. who knows, maybe if it does go out the Mets have their back against the wall more and come through the next inning. Maybe it tarnishes Perez's overall reputation and they don't sign him again. I think what really puts it into perspective is Niese and Thole's birthdays. I think a fair goal is to never players on your team that weren't alive last time you won.
  21. metirish wrote: So how about that Jason Bay? Weak 0-fer-3 and a poorly played game in the outfield. He really lights the fire doesn't he. well, it's Spring so I doubt he's really worried about it. Maybe he's saving his hits for the season. Christ man, based on what?, his previous two great seasons with the Mets? you're taking optimism to a whole new level no, sorry, that was sarcasm ;-) I don't care if he goes 0-40 or 40-40 though, It won't change my guesses at his 2012 one bit, and I'm not sure he's all pumped to try to put up a big spring either. I know we sorta project that the struggling guys want to try hard, but it's probably not true. (Like how Pelfrey got criticized for sucking the other day but people will barely mention Dickey's mess today)

  25. wasn't paying close attention, think he just defended the black uniforms.
