Thought word was early next week for David unless he's gonna do minor league games? if he starts tomorrow he can still get 10 days of games and AB.. Possible matchup of the future anyway. Valdy in center. Gee gets the minor league start today, Dickey minors on tuesday. Herrera, Edgin, Parnell, Acosta and Francisco also on the list for the Mets. Chad Durbin, Ryan Perry, Tyler Clippard, and Brad Lidge on deck for the Nats.

BRAVES 87 I think I like the over here, but only slightly. like 88. CUBS 74.5 Going over here. GIANTS 87.5 Over. MARLINS 84.5 Under METS 70.5 Extremely confident in the over. NATIONALS 84.5 Under PHILLIES 93.5 Under. Who's going to hit the ball? RED SOX 89.5 Over Seems 'collapse' low based on perception. TIGERS 92.5 Over. This is the year they win it all. YANKEES 93.5 Under.

I think that only makes it _less_ credible when you view it through the "preliminary test the market feelers' prism of a pending Boras free agent a year or two out.

I thought he phrased it in a way (Rubin) that the Mets would certainly trade him if a team was specifically interested, but aren't actively looking to do so. Note Heyman's quote "sources suggest" which means sources said something close enough for Heyman to spin it this way. The Mets aren't enamored with his _body language_ and then he cites an A.L. scout? (Which means the Tigers presumably, since it's the AL team the Mets have played, and Lakeland is close enough to the Yankees-Phillies rock for Heyman to crawl out from under) And to presume Sandy Alderson his having buyers remorse 2 months later without Pelfrey having thrown a meaningful inning? With the finances only looking up since then? Hogwash.
Keith just told an interesting story about a low time early in his career when he went 0-4 and Seaver struck him out with the bases loaded on a wicked curveball and he ended up crying about it after the game.

I think it depends on your level of engagement. I mean, making a night of it..eh..watching while making dinner? While eating dinner? doing a fantasy draft? sure. Also, if you're watching it with a woman (who's not a friend with benefits) porn is usually frowned upon. but the important answer I guess is not nekkid at all. There are some nice scenes with various states of undress, but I was in the kitchen for a while, so maybe Greg has a more complete answer.
Edgy DC wrote: I get the idea that they fully expect Torres and/or Hairston ready for opening day, and den Dekker isn't really there as a tryout, but just to fill the position during spring games so their pitchers have some protection for a few innings here and there. If it was a real tryout, they'd've brought back Nieuwenheis. But being as he's one step away, they'd rather him get regular time in minors camp than scraps in big league camp. So they brought back the guy who's two steps away instead. Nieuwenhuis isn't up to game speed yet anyway. It's probably just to fill innings though. They can bring den Dekker in since it doesn't create any 40 man issues even in Spring (Isn't their some rule about recalling the other 40man'rs once they've been optioned back to the minors camp?) and just work in Baxter/Loewen/Valdespin to get some looks at them and their normal AB. Valdespin in particular because they seem dedicated to getting a ton of looks at him. And I imagine they're both hoping Tejada and Murphy can work long term, or that Havens can, and it can't hurt to see Valdespin at a different position.
Today's line-up vs. the Cards: Valdespin-4, Cedeno-6, Bay-7, Davis-3, Duda-9, Turner-5, den Dekker-8, Nickeas-2, Pelfrey-1 Lance Lynn for the Cardinals. On TV, full slate. FS-M, MLBN (delay) WPIX radio, KMOS 1120 (st Louis) and WFAN 660.

Nah, not blaming you. Chat window kept breaking for me too and everything's a rush. I'd already searched for Cespedes to watch so I'd already realized what the no team thing meant. I've been informed when I asked that I can in fact remove players. So I removed Cruz to no penalty. This is quite a lot of power I apparently have, which is why I initially suspected I couldn't do it. (it's hidden in the bottom of the commiss tools page. and requires three different dynamic combo box selections) anyway, tic tacs and what not.

I agree. I don't think it's so much that it's minimalist (like how the 'remove from watchlist' button doesn't work), just that they don't exactly have a full-fledged support staff or really any backing behind it. Maybe someone big buys it/sponsors it via Fangraphs and they can dump some money into it. Hey, I'm a programmer.. Anyway, I asked. My limited experience with it is that they're pretty supportive and understanding, but I don't really know in this case.
The lack of a position/team after his name was why I questioned if it was the right Nelson Cruz in the chat. You can also click on a guy's name in the window and it'll pop up his stats. I can't nullify it. I guess I can try to petition the Ottoneu people to bork it, but given that it's technically the way it's supposed to work, I'm not sure they will.
