  12. They need (particularly Ike) about a dozen more booming XBHs to go along with those Ks and it'd be okay.

  15. Of course I'm serious. Why wouldn't this team be able to beat LA?
  16. G-Fafif wrote: SFG, with first WC in hand, suddenly 1 behind LAD for West lead. This means the Mets have the chance to take matters into their own hands this weekend/tomorrow.
  17. metirish wrote: Zvon wrote: ugh. weak swing ends it. Your right Gary C, the Mets just fumbled away two games. Gotta beat these lesser teams. No excuse for not takin 2 of 3 here. My main problem with this thinking is that in baseball more than some other sports this just doesn't hold up. Gee goes out and pitches five innings , hard to beat up on "lesser teams" with that and with playing shoddy baseball. In my mind Mets at Cubs usually goes like this. right. you just 'gotta beat' enough teams to get into the playoffs. especially when they aren't division teams. The Mets need to rebound and still have a winning road trip, and it's all mostly forgotten.
  18. Jeff Samardzija versus Jon Niese. Sammy was having a good season, but is 0-3 with a +10 ERA over his last three starts. Gary and Ron have predicted "one of those games" at Wrigley with the wind blowing out today

MFY: opposing batter is called out when MFY falls into stands, touches but does not catch ball; ump assumes catch as he does not even ask MFY to show him the ball when he gets up. I know it's possible that there's confirmation bias here in that we notice these things because we want to notice them, but it's always felt like the breaks the Yankees get are like that, and often game changing, and they never even out.

Fwife gave me a two ticket voucher for a Friday night game as a Father's Day gift and this one best fits my schedule. too far out for me to tell. I know I'm going July 20th for Daughtry *that's a band right?* and probably July 3rd for fireworks night. Maybe July 23rd for Star Wars night.

  22. This actually has the makings of an 11-5 Mets blowout.
  23. Zvon wrote: All I'm gonna say is that cudda been better. nah.
  24. Duda hit it hard up the middle, but Castro shaded that way. bah.
  25. Gary Cohen/SNY: Last time the #mets have had 16 games w/o a sac bunt, Casey Stengel was managing. and it'll end with 16. Gee walks but Kirk bunts succesfully.
