  1. I might over think this kinda stuff, but I really want Aramas gone this inning, the nats have 4 good relievers you need innings to get your teeth into them - stopping them playing matchups and getting ahead before Cordero gets in.
  2. that currently the NL East is the only division in the NL with more then the leader at .500 or above, and in the NL East EVERY team is at .500 or above. that's some kooky wildcard race
  3. yeah i'm not saying were in great shape, but I think there's still a chance for the lineup to really click and for us to have a 10-4 stretch or something like that. I will say this though, if there's a chance to bring someone like Adam Dunn, who's rights are controlled for another two years after this one, I think it could be a justifiable risk. I'm not sure yet, but it might be. Carlos Beltran showed what a top quality acquisition can do for a middling team around now. Locking 380+ and 500+ slugging in at 3/4/5 would make the world of difference to that lineup.

  5. the nationals are going to have a skid sometime soon, their record in one run games is ridiculous and their lineup is very thin. They're basically being carried by Nick Johnson, Guillen and Brad Wilkerson. If Wilkerson and Johnson (make it through a season without getting banged up once that'll be a first - em as I speak Johnson's gone on the dl) and their pitching is seriously thin. I'm more worried about how far behind Atlanta and the Marlins we are, which isn't very.
  6. mench was hitting the leather off the ball ... anaheim were pretty lousy after the first inning though. going to watch at least a bit of the indians vs the orioles now. [what a waste of a Seaver post btw]
  7. The angels had runners at 2nd & 3rd with nobody out in the first and Guerrero at bat. Vlad struck out, they walked (intentionally) anderson, Rivera singled (scoring one run) and then young got the next two hitters to ground out. To come out of that with only 1 run of damage is pretty spectacular.
  8. 7-3 now, it's a fun kinda game without being that exciting due Ervin Santana being pretty poor.[should have noted that i'm talking about the rangers/angels game]
  9. thin about sheff's ranting is he's got one reason for it, and that's to try and squeeze some $ out of someone. That's his form, that's what he does. If le boss/omar sweetend the deal with money, he'd be up for it. If he wasn't going on 37 i'd be very tempted, but right now, I just don't dare rely on him to be productive for much longer.
  10. we gotta look at heillman in the rotation again. We REALLY have to. Ishii's just to liable to fucking throw away the game in one inning.
  11. Pedro 3Cliffy 1 Carlos 2 (am I correct in remembering him walloping in to a wall to make an out)Jose 1Cameron 1Mike Piazza 1David Wright 1
  12. Wright 5Heillman 3Dejean 1Daubach 1
  13. tell you something, whatever Sal may say about the cheapness of Wilpon and that the mets aren't really competitive, they're a fucking fun team to watch when they're playing well like they did last night. It was 3 am when the game finished and I didn't feel anything other then 100% completely awake. -
  14. fantastic play by Beltran to rob Matsui of a double.
  15. I can't dislike A-Rod; we share a birthdate.
  16. not only that, but the ESPN guys were squarely blaming him for not getting Reyes either back to 1st or out @ 2nd on Mussina's thrown into the outfield
  17. Kaboom: Cliff Floyd!
  18. never been done by an NL team before according to ESPN!Pedro's starting to SMOKE'm
  19. seriously folks!
  20. should have posted this here" any recent met draftees on show in the elimination games that's on right now between Baylor and Oregon St? "How does this work; if you're drafted to you still play?

  22. I reckon Piazza. He's gonna hit a hot streak at some stage.
  23. he just isn't that good, had a *near fluke* season last year. in 2002 & 2003 he's ops of .696 and .758and he comes with an 8.5 million price tag for 2006!
  24. holy jeebus no no no no to Sean Casey!
