  1. I went with Omar Minaya. He kind of deserves it most.
  2. We would have all gotten a good laugh if they chose to duel with cream pies instead.

This is the most perfect product placement ever, as both the sponsor and the product serve only to produce useless, annoying noise. Rockin' Doc Jun 27 2009 09:45 PM Yeah, he did hang you a curve there, but when you got your pitch you made the most of the opportunity and hammered it. metirish Jun 28 2009 05:55 PM DocTee wondering about the appropriate response to the news of Billy May's death ] I wonder if there will be a moment of screaming instead of a moment of silence. Farmer Ted Jul 01 2009 02:46 PM Kong's on a roll. Centerfield Jul 02 2009 07:23 AM Greg, on rumors of a team meeting based on the fact that the clubhouse remained closed longer than usual. Given the way they've been playing, they probably accidentally locked themselves in. HahnSolo Jul 05 2009 05:56 AM Any posts in the thread about my wife get a bullet of cool from me. But I did notice this one from FMan in the trades thread that floors me each time I read it: Elijah Dukes sent down by the Nats to their local AAA affiliate here in Syracuse, to make room for Morgan to play. In other news, my home insurance premiums just doubled.
  4. Yay Mets! (Damn, did I chose the right inning to be snarky).
  5. FUCK! Only three runs in that inning! Stupid Mets.
  6. Now that DEADBEAT Santos hits a double to drive in another run. With a 5-1 lead this game is really getting away from us.
  7. Now that LOSER Tatis drives in another run. It's painful how well this team is doing in this game. I HATE them!
  8. God I hate it when Beltran singles and Wright doubles and Sheffield drives in a run with a single. SUCKS!
  9. Yes, because 1-hitters in which the Mets have the lead really suck.
  10. Short version of the above post: if you hate this team, don't watch them. For your sake and mine.
  11. Venting is great, criticism is fine - especially with the facts to back it up. I object to the fact that every day for like the past two years I come to this site and see reactionary crap like "sucks" and "hate" about a team we're supposed to be supporting. I object to moral judgments like "he's lazy", "he's stupid", "he doesn't want to win" "they don't have heart" and all that bullshit as opposed to intelligent observations about the player/team/strategy based on facts and statistics. I don't know what's happened to the Crane Pool. This used to be the site that avoided all the reactionary hater kind of stuff. Shit, even in 2004 I remember folks here being supportive of the team and that team was pretty lousy. The past four seasons we've had a good, contending team with some of the best, most exciting players in the teams history. I don't like seeing them make mistakes and fail to live up to their potential either, but just spouting a bunch a crap makes this forum no fun. I've tried quitting but keep coming back for some reason. Maybe it's just a memory.
  12. Wow, do they have a gigantic technicolor wall at that ballpark?
  13. Pretty lame. If you're going to hate the Mets every time they lose you may as well jump on the bandwagon of whatever team is winning.
  14. soupcan wrote: I fucking hate this this team. No one is forcing you to be a Mets fan. Go watch some other team.
  15. Gotta give some share of the blame to K-Rod for walking the tying and winning run.
  16. Not good. Not good at all. I was all excited about how pissed A-Rod looked when he popped up. Then I was gravely disappointed. Grr.
  17. Of course, none of my other imperatives have been of any help, so maybe I should just shut up.
  18. Shut'em down Francisco.
  19. Let's get some insurance runs, boys.
