My memory of Wagner is belowing Pedros 3 run lead against the MFY'S in midsummer in 06 I beleive. I was there and didn't smile til our group got to Virgil's

I am going on a Rubin piece a few days ago that suggested the 30 Million coming off payroll may not be reinvested in salary. From a pure business point of view I would imagine the Franchise will turn a loss dollar wise..possibly a very large one. Lotta holes to fill..If Omar comes back, and I believe he will it will take some true creativity over the winter because you really don't know where Reyes, Beltran, and Santana will be come March. Having said that I would like Crawford and move Beltran to left and pick up the option on Frenchie. The Rays have to pick up Crawfords option at a relative bargain of 10 million or work something out on him

If the 30 million dollars coming off payroll is not going to be used on salaries would this mean payroll would be around 100 million? Making this list much smaller I don't know how the Mets will evaluate what they need this off season as so many injuries may not be resolved, good or bad, til spring.

="Valadius":6b00s1ty]It feels odd now to be able to follow a Mets game in actual time, rather than six hours ahead.[/quote:6b00s1ty] Welcome home Omar! Swan Swan H Aug 25 2009 05:58 PM The rout is on! Well, they got one run, anyway, on a Frenchy double (well hit but misplayed) and a Tatis single. Murphy (line out) and Santos (single) also hit the ball hard, and Andy Handy is up, 2 on and 2 out. Valadius Aug 25 2009 06:03 PM This season has gotten so bad that when I saw that the Mets scored a run, my first reaction was merely, "Oh." Edgy DC Aug 25 2009 06:55 PM In Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (wherever they play their home games), a seventh-inning RBI single by Josh Peterson has put the Bisons on top of the Yankees 1-0. Jesus Feliciano is 3-4 and has his average up to .307. Edgy DC Aug 25 2009 07:19 PM Hey, Sheffie is out with a back cramp. In SWB, Chris Mason has yielded, after seven shutout innings, to Adam Bostick and Jim Ed Warden (who the f...?) who pitch a scoreless eighth. We're in the ninth. Edgy DC Aug 25 2009 07:46 PM Warden gets the save and it's a shoutout for the Buffs. OK, weirder..Verizon's homepage has Wagner demanding Mets decline 2010 option before approving trade to Red Sox He wants to sign with the Fucksox at a lower rate next season I assume Omar..do not accomodate him unless Boston coughs up Lars Anderson

I'm kinda upset that Rubin is reporting that Minaya is being kept largely to keep costs down..Too expensive too rebuid the front office. If I read right the roughly $30 Million coming off payroll will not be replaced with contracts. Are the Wilpons just "gullible" people that put too much faith & trust in employees and business associates? To me, the increasing hole in the wallet suggests so.

G-Fafif Aug 23 2009 04:57 PM I thought it was pretty incredible that I went to a game and saw two three-run homers in the top of the first, a starter pulled with a 3-0 count to the opposing pitcher after 45 pitches, a leadoff inside-the-park homer in the bottom of the first, a triple follow that, a poor-hitting pitcher drive in a run, the inside-the-park homer-hitter hit a homer outside the park and the return of an icon to face his old club.
