  1. 3-0 Phillies, I'm shocked.
  2. Edgy DC wrote: Ha! You're all afraid of the beard question. What kind of a beard are you referring to?
  3. Thole makes Paulino look like an all-star.
  4. Ledger pushed Jose beyond Monday, but I guess that was a given and no surprise.
  5. The Star Ledgers take..not too spoony on Ike and Johan http://www.nj.com/mets/index.ssf/2011/07/mets_ike_davis_gets_cortisone.html
  6. Sandy wouldn't trade anyone for crap, would he?
  7. To me, the opportunity for the Mets to extricate themselves from Rodriguez was truly a gift from God. The San Francisco Giants have a young highly regarded corner OF named Brandon Belt. If Beltran were headed to the left coast thats who I want.
  8. My non Met hat begins and ends with the MFY's.
  9. Not enough federal money to retry this..Dismissed..

We could've gotten him anyway. It's also not a given that the 17.5 is more value than K-Rod provides. (If you need an example, What if last year the Yankees had decided not to spend the 15mill on Mariano and had used it to sign Feliciano and Soriano? Not quite teh same as they're all relievers, but the guy you spend the money on could be Mo Vaughn or just trip and break his leg for that matter) The percentages suggest it's much much more likely. But that's all a GM really controls, percentages. (Paraphrasing Sandy here) The almost certain probability that this ultimately makes the Mets better in the long run is not exciting. It's merely a good financial decision, but in terms of how I feel about the team in general, at this moment, it's hardly more than buying an energy efficient refridgerator. Sure, that money saved probably allows me to keep Netflix even with the price going up, but the fridge could still end up causing brown outs or end up being a faulty model. Sitting back with legs up waiting for Ceetar to start therapy. Cmon dude...Players come and go. Don't torture yourself..
  11. Skip Lockwood is back in training. Til then, Beato closes, Parnell 8th inning.
  12. This deal was addition by subtraction. A monetary mathematical transaction.

  14. Well done!
  15. I'm more like chafed. I just want Wright, Davis, Reyes and Santana back in one piece..Thats it..
  16. Driving his Ford around Route 22 in Paramus looking for a Taco Bell.
  17. With the father/son bonding and boobage I couldn't help but think of Clark & Rusty Griswold... Great photos..Thanks.
  18. Just being around Jeter for years gave Cano the strength to beat everyone else.
  19. Badass...
  20. They should have gotten Bryce Harper and Adam Dunn in here..
  21. It's not an all star game without Jeter.
  22. The best the Mets may be able to do in Trading Beltran is save two months of salary. He is a pure rental. You are not likely to land much of a prospect. Anyone for keeping Carlos and resigning him? You need an RF.
  23. Turner 3.5 Pelfrey 3 Evans 1.5 Acosta 1.5

Frayed Knot wrote: Amazing how both Bobby and Orel say that non-injured players should be there, and then go out of their way to make sure it doesn't sound like they're criticizing Jeter & Mariano both of whom are NOT injured yet NOT going. No mention, meanwhile, of Reyes who both IS injured and IS going anyway. Maybe the MFY's own ESPN.
  25. Or defense. 76 pitches by Pelfrey and his bat may come up this inning. How about Nick Evans to PH?
