    Larry Bowa

Ok Ok...every time Bowa gets tossed, it seems to me like he's auditioning for another managerial position. The antics are so over-the-top that they cannot be considered as valid responses to any real or imagined slight. He's a dick.

    Larry Bowa

    Rich Becker.
  3. From the look of it Bowa was resisting an order to remain within the confines of the coaching box, a rule the umps have been asked to enforce more often this season. Jon Miller and Mike Krukow were trying to figure out the last time a third base coach was ejected-- they gave up but conceded that the last previous incident probably involved Bowa, too.
  4. Giants-Dodgers scoreless in the sixth. Matt Cain up to 114 pitches through 5 2/3 innings. Three hits, four BB. At this pace, he'll be throwing with his left hand by the AS Break. Giants have an anemic offense. Larry Bowa just ejected from his 3B coaching duties by Ed Montague-- he went typically berserk.
  5. Can't throw that pitch twice in a row to a MLB hitter. Can't.
  6. Uggla with a quick bat-- 2-0 Fish.
  7. Excellent-- the Crane Fool Forum.
  8. And the Pirates win the damn game!
  9. Motherfather-- two in, none out.
  10. I gave some love to Schneider for a few reasons. His handling of Santana and his hustle down the line, preventing a wild throw from careening into the Marlins dugout, thereby saving a base and setting an early example of what I hope will be a season-long gritty attitude. (Wow, that's a run-on sentnece, but I can't help it I all hopped up over our win, I feel like Kramer when he wins free lattes for life, and...)
  11. Santana: 4.0 Wright: 2.0 Sosa: .50 Schneider: .50 Heilman: .50 Reyes: 1.0 Beltran: 1.0 Castillo: .50
  12. That's gotta be a Zvon original, no?
  13. Yep, that's how I got the Mets feed today. Dunno know how long it lasts.
  14. I think SJR was saying that too many games last year had runs coming in one fell swoop and featured a role-less bullpen. I think.
  15. Gagne with a blown save, after Kerry Wood let the Brewers go ahead with three in the ninth. How the mighty have fallen. On edit: Fukudome's debut: 3-3 with a walk, HR, Run scored and 3 RBI
  16. Fosse's awesome. He was paired with Papa --and on occasion the legendary Bill King--before SF lured him across the Bay. Now he has some schlub working beside him. For a while the Papa-Fosse and Krukow-Kuiper tandems were the best in the biz, in my opinion.
  17. Is it strange that the Reds and Indians are both playing home games? Or do they not typically synch their schedules like the Mets and Yankees [and Cubs and White Sox] do?) Cleveland and Cinci are a bit further apart than the Bronx and Queens.
  18. Don't stadia-- by rule-- have to make home plate face East, to avoid having a setting sun in the batter's eyes?
  19. The Giants crew-- Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow, with Greg Papa in reserve--is the best in the bigs, right now.
  20. Here, and today's a state holiday, so I am not working. (Thank you Cesar Chavez) 1:10 start on the Left Coast
  21. To make the team: Dukie, Clark, Smith
  22. Do Papelbon and Street have enough on this side of the ledger to get back on the horse? Does can either carry Mariano's jock? Will their respective teams go to closer by committee? Only time--and SJR--can tell!
  23. And he's the Tigers' starting CF on Opening Day!
  24. Tiggers not dealing an OF bat now that Curtis Granderson is on the DL to start the season (broken finger)...Brandon Inge expected to start in CF

    Lenny

I once encountered LD at a NYC bar... he pulled up in a limo and was accompanied by three "ladies"-- not exactly lookers, though they might have once been. My friends and I commented on his high energy level and the number of trips he took to the restroom...probably not unrelated to one another. He spilled his drinks on one of his guests-- it may well have been his wife, and I will give him the benefit of the doubt-- and then proceeded to remove his writwatch (which looked pricy) and give it to her, either as an apology, or for safe keeping. This was 12 or so years ago, so maybe things have changed in his life-- I sure hope so because at the time he looked like one of those lost athletes whom he is now reaching out to.
