Maine lifted after six as Casanova PHs. 1 R on 2 hits (both to Martin) over his last five IP.
-
'nother quick inning by Maine.
-
Carlos B. grounds out...ESPN GameCast show Tatis in LA uni...never knew (or forgot) he was once a Dodger. Tatis and Castro follow CB's lead and ground out in succession. << My designation is a man who will get managerial consideration soon, methinks. (Jose Oquendo, in case my posting level changes-- and at this rate it will by next inning).
-
Maine showing no ill effects from the long inning-- Ks Park and induces comebackers from Pierre and Kemp.
-
Left 'em loaded.
-
Bags juiced for DWright after another walk. Torre must be at wits end. If the Mets don't plate more than one this inning, I will be.
-
Castro retired at home on the FC-- still loaded for Jose. Who brings one home on another FC. First and second, two down for Castillo.
-
Castro and Delgado open thehome half of the fourth with consecutive singles. Nick Evans to the plate. Singles-- loaded for the pitcher, with no outs. Gotta capitalize on these opportunities. On edit: Evans was up 3-0, then Kershaw worked it full. Following via ESPN GameCast, I though Torre was intentionally walking the bags full to get to Maine.
-
Martin homers to start the Dodger fourth--old game.
-
Sac fly and we are tied. Ttais grounds out, Mets plate one, strand two. New game after three. Three runs on two hits so far.
-
Consecutive walks to Reyes, Castillo and Wright-- Big AB here for Carlos B.
-
7 in a row for Maine after that inning-ending strikeout of James Loney.
-
Kemp--who'd look good in Metly colors--flies out after an 8 pitch at bat to lead off the third. The slumping Jeff Kent ks for the second.
-
I know it's Friday and some of you have dates, but where the hell is Rogers? Or Valadius? At the premier of Sex in the City?? C'mon guys, priorities...
-
And Kershaw responds in kind. 3-2 Dodgers after two full.
-
Nice 1-2-3 inning for Maine gets him back in rhythm.
-
Castillo homers. In other news, hell freezes over.
-
Maine gives up three in the first, Mets get two back in their half of the frame, so far. And the only one here is 3K miles from Shea.

"Not close to returning due to a contusion..." Isn't that a fancy word for bruise? What are these guys made of glass-- play hurt, not injured.
-
We shall all now rise for the press conference announcing his promotion.

Who'd we call up?

Who hasn't?

I'd trade for Brian Giles. SD ain't going anywhere and a change of scenery might help him. Oliver Perez and his expiring contract might do it.
