  1. I think Reyes got too amped up and started pressing. He hits far too many balls in the air, and he seems to give up a strike practically every at-bat with that fakey-bunty thing he does. But I think he needs to sit; he's hurting the ballclub. Just like I think Granderson needs to sit and a Lagares/Conforto combination needs to take over center field. And Walker could use a few days on the pine as well. Too early for Rosario yet; he's still getting his legs under him in Vegas. But there needs to be a shakeup here.
  2. Followed this shitshow on my phone as we watched the Cards beat the Pirates 2-1. Bucs had 11 hits and one run, so we're not the only ones with offensive problems. Have to assume Montero gets the DFA when Fammy returns. He's been given chance after chance after chance. Time to cut bait. If he succeeds somewhere else, so be it. But he's blown every opportunity the Mets have given him. Buh-bye.
  3. Every time I see one of these I worry about Cespedes' Popeye arms.
  4. Much gloom in STL, despite the win last night. The horrendous defense is not 'The Cardinal Way', and there's a feeling that a stripdown and rebuild may be necessary, something they've avoided for decades.
  5. Hope everyone's feeling hitterish. I don't expect Zack to go very deep and it would be nice to have a nice cushion at that point. I'll be in the left-field box seats, except that those seats will be in Busch Stadium as I'm in St Louis on bizness.
  6. So, just one question- was John Stearns running as a Republican or a Democrat?
  7. All the great starting pitching in the world isn't helpful if it can't get deep into games. And all that great starting pitching can't win if they don't score some goddamn runs.
  8. Well, he's 'Loman' on the totem pole. I think like others that he just ran out of gas in the 5th. His pitches were moving pretty well when he retired 10 in a row, but seemed to lose movement as he tired.
  9. Cespedes seems reluctant to slide in general; might be a hangover from his quad problems.

  11. Well, I bailed early, so this was a nice surprise to wake up to. Hope Noah has nine innings in him tonight.
  12. Well, foof. Edgin edging his way out the door.
  13. Not really. Gsellman is the hairy one, and everyone knows that Wei-Yin Chen has a series of electrified armor plates down his spine.

  15. Wheeler pitched well, and I was okay with Terry leaving him in there to try to get out of it in the 6th. But Robles, oy. He's a real box o'chocolates, especially working his third day in a row. I was shocked to see him come out for the 7th, although it worked out in the end. It'll be good to get Familia back.
  16. Stanton. Not even close. He's a game changer.

  18. Given the suddenly-precarious nature of the rotation, this is a big game for Wheels tonight.

  20. Tight hammy. Hopefully won't miss more than a start.
  21. Didn't look too serious, but fingers crossed.
  22. lol at Ronnie- 'A Ray Guy kind of home run'.
  23. Will Noah Syndergaard steal the Phanatic's scooter and give it to Cespedes for customization?
  24. Yeah, we know what cold Jay Bruce is like. But pretty much everybody else in the lineup looks lost these days. A little shakeup is needed, Terry. May I recommend TJ at third, Rivera behind the plate and Conforto in center? Reyes worries me. He's swinging at balls that almost hit him, then watches pitches right down Broadway. I know he's happy to be back and all, but he's pressing.
  25. Hate to say it, but somebody besides Reyes needs to be playing third right now.
