It might have been nice if the Mets had a baserunner or three at the time, but Pete just visited The Boom-Boom Room. And it was NOT a Polo Grounds homer.
Chasen Shreve is allergic to the strike zone, and Eduardo Escobar doesn't bother covering third on a steal. Some head-in-assedness seems to have spread among the Mets on the plane from New York.
Joined the Mets at the butt end of a long career, and I'm pretty sure he either went to the Mexican League after, or played in the WBC for Mexico after. Maybe both.

In the Marlins series, they always seemed have the infield shifted wrong. So far this game, Houston has had their fielders shifted right a couple of times.
Hunter knew how the ride his dad's chest protector to the big time. It's now just called Wendlestedt Umpiring School. But it has an implied H in the logo that you can project either Harry or Hunter onto. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2e/Wendelstedt_Umpire_School_Logo.png>
I completely forgot he was a Met for a spell. So unMetly he was. He was so unMetly that he made Jon Rauch seem Metly. What a weird year that 2014 was for brief unMetly interlopers in the bullpen.
I think you're sort of right though. He hit the Injured List twice in succession. I think he hit the granny in between, and then got reinjured in a non-contact injury (shoulder?) that was a lingering effect of the collision. Good job. I was coming up empty.
