  1. A lot of entertaining Twitter theories about why this hasn't been announced yet, but this hasn't been announced yet. Neither, most likely relatedly, has the lineup been posted.
  2. Your Syracuse Mets' OPS Leaders Baty — 1.386 Mauricio — 1.193 Vientos — 1.109 Álvarez — 1.056 Arauz — .989 Cedrola — .964 Mendick — .890 Overall team — .899
  3. The elements on that Texas uniform pop nicely, but that insignia feels a little too Nazi-Gothic to me. I can't see the numbers too well, but they kind of recall the Expos' digits to me. I've always wanted to see the Rangers take the field in cowboy hats.
  4. I'm pretty sure Bauer was her first client. She was with him before the assault case broke, but not before he put together an unappealing personal track record. Yasuil Puig is also on her roster, so her interest may be less in corralling folks with violence-against-women problems, so much as folks with general PR problems, who more established firms might shy away from.
  5. But she says that "you" love to see it, so clearly you must. Unless she's addressing me, and I somehow love it without knowing.
  6. Kingman is the only guy on that list besides Strawberry who is a former franchise leader.
  7. It was from his beloved collection All About that Grass.
  8. Frayed Knot wrote: I don't think it could have to this degree. I'm not sure this degree is necessarily or definitively optimal. Beyond that, whenever we use [decade in the past] as an analog, we are referencing an era that was not governed by the clock.
  9. Along with a reference to a James Taylor single from 55 years ago, and a Civil War-era Walt Whitman line.
  10. I tend to think that this was still do-able without turning the game over to a clock.
  11. Trevor Bauer makes his debut in the Japanese minors. The only one stateside who seems to be exicited seems to be his agent.
  12. The New York Mets Western Retribution Tour takes us Los Angeles, where we seek to serve up a tall cool glass of revenge lager that's been 35 years in the brewing. David Peterson goes against Dustin May. Brett Baty hasn't been officially announced to be joining the team, but nobody's denied it either. The Dodgers have no promotion scheduled. But if you're in town, nonfiction writer Alissa Quart and comic actress Annabelle Gurwitch will be appearing at Chevalier's Book before the game where they will discuss our obsession with self-reliance, but you probably think you don't need that sort of thing. Book event starts at 6:00 PM Pacific Time, with the game at 7:10, so the turnaround might be tricky. If anybody want to KTE this showdown, I'm sure we'd all appreciate it, but once you get started, let us know, so two posters are duplicating each other's work.
  13. Yacabonis wins every time out!
  14. I was thinking that Lindor should look for the ball up, because Jackson was a breaking ball pitcher who couldn't afford to bounce a curve in the dirt. Sure enough, he spiked a fastball.
  15. =kcmets post_id=122581 time=1681686742 user_id=53] Ghost runner, just sucks the life out of an otherwise decent ballgame.
  16. Sunday afternoon beer league baseball rules coming. Eduardo Escobar starts on second.
  17. I'm certain that Edwin Diaz would not have been hitting for Eduardo Escobar last inning. Can we please move on?
  18. Yes, we know that Diaz is unavailable. And no, Escobar hasn't done nothing.
  19. Welcome to #1194, Jimmy Yacabonis! [FIMG=500]https://metsminors.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/9e0ba585-8d62-47be-9140-618e25d236cc-10275-000003bcbe3e7bf2_file.jpg[/FIMG]
  20. I like to think a foul back to the screen can be a sac fly here.
  21. =ashie62 post_id=122549 time=1681685496 user_id=90]Now steal third
  22. Well, you can't say the no-doubles defense didn't work there.
  23. Jeff McNeil can't buy a break, but that swinging strike call was boochit.
  24. Yeah, fortune smiled a bit on Butto Butto Golly, but he did a good job grinding.
  25. That Marlboro sign followed Gary around like a ghost.
