1. Yeah. Looks like they're getting some spray. We've had rain most all of the day here in Baltimore.
2. Well, it's generally an accepted reality that catchers cannot play as often as other players.
3. Most interesting is the flipping of Jeff McNeil and Delroy Lindor, and the 2023 debut of Michael Perez, but I like Vogelbach fifth. I prefer rookies just hitting, without increasing the likelihood of game-tilting situations falling into their laps. Strange that MLB.tv gave me the SNY feed last night. They've always treated games against the Nats as in my "area." I hope this is an indication that I'll get Mets/Nats games from now on.
4. Smith climbed the ladder nicely there. A 3-2 win certainly isn't a unicorn score, but it's a pretty good bet that it's the team's first 3-2 win ever where all the runs were scored on a three-run single.
5. I love riding pitchers, but I wouldn't have ridden Robertson that long. Smith is coming in with his back against it here.
6. Sharp curveball, but he left it up. Abrams saw multiple curves but somehow wasn't expecting it.
7. And yet, somehow gets the strikeout, despite throwing maybe one pitching over the plate.
8. Robertson not coming out sharp in the ninth. At all.
9. =ashie62 post_id=125248 time=1683936706 user_id=90] The idea was to look back at the lineup I had suggested with what was actually turned in by Buck
10. Tim Wallach's nickname was "Wally."
11. Gore vs. McNeil is #1-vs.-#1. I doubt I've ever seen that before. If I have I didn't note it. Cue Hall & Oates.
12. =ashie62 post_id=125238 time=1683935049 user_id=90] I put that up long before today's lineup was posted
13. That lineup was also impossible last night.
14. You are openly comparing it to the lineup posted this evening, to distinguish your work from the work of the manager. You are asking us to observe that, and so I did, and that's why I responded. But the manager has to live in the real world. You and I do not.
15. That's unsurprising, since that lineup would be impossible for Buck Showalter to actually turn in.
16. Well, there's the run I was supposed to have missed. I guess the hole isn't my fault after all.
17. I have been tuning in a little late, and I think this is the first time in a week I didn't tune in with the Mets already behind. That said, I tuned in only one out into Washington's evening. The Cab Calloway "Minnie The Moocher" call-and-response is kind of annoying, in an "evahbody clap yo hands" sense.
18. Not all problems are solved in the offseason. Not all answers can be found there. Capitalism may tell you that amassing acquisitions from a limited marketplace alone is the path forward. Capitalism lies.
19. Worst Paul McCartney song ever.
20. I'm sure there are more, but these are the Mets of color I could come up with:

Vic Black Henry Blanco Andrew Brown Emil Brown Kevin Brown Leon Brown Lorn Brown Tim CorcoranSteve Gelbs Tom Gorman Andy Green Dallas Green Pumpsie Green Sean Green Shawn Green Charlie GreeneMel Rojas Luis Rosado Brian Rose Don Rose José Valverde Justin Verlander Rick White

21. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I voted Alvarez three times now! (Each time the options change, the existing votes get wiped out.) I thought that was just me. I voted for Álvarez three times, also. President Trump is right!
22. Man, the house gets to keep all that early money dropped on Khalil Lee.
23. =ashie62 post_id=125153 time=1683831662 user_id=90]I just did
24. If I wrote something false, please let me know. Three shutout frames for Tommy Junta.
25. You're never as bad as you think you are when you're losing. You're never as good as you think you are when you're winning. It's not like they got shut out last night or the night before or the night before that.
