Cheers for Baty catching a popup.

    Scherzer out for the seventh.

    Shoulda squeezed, Francisco.

I'll take the dinky RBI. Smelled double-playish, but a break is welcome.
  6. Edgy MD
And he swings at ball one.

Shmases are loaded with one out. Nimmo at the plate. Pitcher is all over the place. It's a good time for him to show his strike zone judgment is still there.

McNeil dusted right after Heyward leaves the game as a result of McNeil's tag? Hmmm ... .

    Here come the walksies.
  10. Edgy MD
He did. And, oh, that's why they call that guy "Outman."

Dykstra? The short guy next to Mitchell? He looks 90, but Heavens to Betsy, I think you're right! I usually credit Teufel with being the holding-up-the-best 86er, but I think I need to switch my vote to Orosco.

Nice to see Baty keeping his head in the game.

"Yeah, extremely frustrating for sure. I mean, I don't know where this would rank. But, I mean, it's frustrating and a bit disappointing to come up short like that. I mean there's a lot of things that we could for sure improve on. I mean, we didn't hit well. We had some opportunities, especially there late in the game. That's a tough one. We had guys on base late in the game in the seventh and eighth inning, yeah, nothing came of it. We just had Brandon's [Nimmo] homer and one run isn't going to get it done. I mean, [Kodai] Senga pitched incredible, thought we played great defense as a whole. Just couldn't close this one out unfortunately."

    I figgered.

Ted Williams was a lot of things, but a righthanded hitter he was not.

Yeah, I'm seeing it that way, also. We're trading a lot for solo homers. Although that was an excellent at bat leading to a homer on a two-strike curve.
  18. Edgy MD
I think that maybe he shouldn't have been quicker to third, but quicker to the ball.
  19. Edgy MD
    They're not stuck, A.J.
  20. Edgy MD
How many times do you lie to yourself, AJ?
  21. Edgy MD
And a ball to Baty's face.
  22. Edgy MD
Slick relay, Francisco, but we coulda used you on that popup.
  23. Edgy MD
I know that's not the first popup Baty has ever seen, but I suspect that was the first popup Baty has ever seen.
  24. Edgy MD
"If you don't make some changes, you have the same team next year." That's the sort of analysis that just lights up the television, A.J.

Caleb Ferguson has some heat. The popout by Canha on pitch one was what kil't me.
