  1. Luiseverino at 90 pitches through five.
  2. The guy in the pimp outfit returns as Witt goes down offering!
  3. And he walks a second guy to put two on with two out for Bobby Witt.
  4. We're one out from an official game.
  5. Baty and Álvarez both hitting over .300. Vientos hitting .300 in Syracuse. Getting better is often about just sticking with the plan until things kick in.
  6. Jeff McNeil is the toy surprise in my Lucky Charms. DJ Stewart is the northeast-most minaret in my Taj Mahal.
  7. Severino has found a grooverino.
  8. I didn't think that.
  9. And we have Hudson News!! Transactions, 4/11/2024 [th]Direction[/th][td90]GOING[/td90][th]Transaction [/th][td90]Traded from CHC for $$, Assigned to Binghamton[/td90][th]Position Group [/th][th]=#00BF00] Catcher[/th][th][/th][td90][fimg=90]https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-photos/image/upload/d_people:generic:headshot:67:current.png/w_213,q_auto:best/v1/people/621529/headshot/67/current[/fimg][/td90][th]Name [/th][td90]Joe Hudson [fimg=50]https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2023/12/usa_m.png[/fimg][/td90][th]DoB[/th][td90]1991-05-21[/td90][th]B/T[/th][td90]R/R[/td90][th]High Level[/th][td90]MLB (2020)[/td90] In a scant 18 games as a major leaguer, Joe Hudson has failed to throw out a single one of the seven guys attempting to steal off of him. But in 680 minor league games, he has caught 40% of all would-be thieves, so here's to the Mets for shoring up a bit in that department. If there's a need at catcher, they have one more solid option, and despite an indifferent minor league career at the plate, he tore down the Cactus League with his bat this spring, going .318 / .483 / .636 // 1.119 in 29 plate appearances.
  10. It's all good when Luis Guzman is calling the shots.
  11. I was third-ranked in the Mets bullpen last year. Or maybe fourth. Whatever it was, by the end of the season, With Díaz dówn and Robertson Marlined, it was me saving games — or trying to — in the ninth inning. And that suggests I was mostly getting the job done. But I couldn't hold a guy on base with a railroad spike. So it was a soft market this offseason, and that's generally not the best of news for a bullpen setup guy who can fake it as a closer for a few weeks but can't hold people on and turned 38 back in November. But I appeared in over 60 games each of the last six full seasons and in 24 in the fake season of 2020. So as January was turning into February and the Mets had spent the offseason hunting the margins for the next Ottavino, a little inspiration made them think, "Maybe we can squeeze one more year out of the original model." So here I am, native New Yorker back for another go. And yeah, new rules are in place to encourage base-stealing, so I've had to put my work in to try to catch up, and I still may not be able to slow them down, but I've got a zero on my back which suggests a sense of humor, and now in my third season as a Met, I intend to leave my mark on this team. And you are here to tell me what that mark will look like in 2024. That's YOUR job. 12. Leaves behind a double-digit ERA, sadly.
  13. Yes, the severed legacies of both Araúz and Almonte (a 2023 Met, actually) were noted, but here they are again. 14. Maybe his bookmaker wasn't willing to take bets from him on action where he might have an inside track. Or maybe it's a lot harder to cover your tracks when you're tracking through your own house.
  15. Maybe a hardline position by Boras blowing up in his client's face makes Pete Alonso a little more signable.
  16. =Centerfield post_id=151552 time=1712861363 user_id=65] Let's go Rain! Let's go Rain!
  17. Number five is Jeff Kent, although Carlos Baerga wasn't "a fat tub of goo."
  18. Sweet road trip.
  19. Ouch. Softball grand slam.
  20. Guillorme on the mound before actually appearing as a hitter or a fielder this season. Wow.
  21. "Once he got the physical problems under control, a huge weight came off of him." — Gary Cohen Brett Baty looking golden, but not getting the call.
  22. Marte still not washed up. Also a good time to get some Tyler Jay action into the game.
  23. Jeff McNeil is also the spots on my dominoes.
  24. Jeff McNeil gets "Don't Bring Me Down." Eh.
