  1. Questionable choices there from our MVP.
  2. Butto for a second inning. Bader to center, Nimmo from center to left, McNeil from left to right. If they get through this inning, the merry-go-round might continue next inning by putting Taylor in right, moving McNeil to second, and sending Iglesias to third for Vientos.
  3. =ashie62 post_id=168656 time=1725411639 user_id=90] [bIGPURPLE]VBoom[/bIGPURPLE]
  4. =kcmets post_id=168653 time=1725411494 user_id=53] Butto, 1-2-3... Let's score some more runs!!
  5. Mets starters have the https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?pos=all&lg=nl&qual=y&season=2024&season1=2024&ind=0&team=0%2Cts&stats=sta&type=8&month=31&sortcol=16&sortdir=default&pagenum=1second-best ERA in the league over the second half, and amazingly, they've thrown about 15 more innings than any other team.
  6. Now that the Mets have taken care of business, I can't help but root for sad sacks to turn it around and stick it to the man — any man that isn't my man, of course, but stick it real good. And yeah, of course they should be relegated and lose their spot in the league to Omaha.
  7. I loved that segment of last night's broadcast, with two seconds passing between Gary identifying Mayer and then labeling him as an obvious frontrunner.
  8. South Siders came to Baltimore and got their sox washed by the Birds, 13-3. With that elusive 32nd victory continuing to remain out of their grasp, The Disco Demolitionists are now 31-108. It's a .223 pace, pointing at a 36-126. season. Incredible! Those 36 wins, on the other hand, would match Walter Johnson's 1913 season.
  9. Also worth more than nothing is gaining a half game on Phillie.
  10. Phil Maton can shut a door.
  11. Mets currently playing clean, attractive baseball.
  12. As Young headed back to the dugout, I flashed on Jorge Lopez tossing his glove over the net back at the end of May. Feels like a long time since then.
  13. The gummint is given Danny Young a long leash here.
  14. Larry Vanover thinks he's paying the Mets back by punching out Jarren Duran there, but he's going to need one or two more of those to get even.
  15. Larry Vanover has tickets tonight to see Los Dos Carnales, Juanma, Salazar, and EL YAKI at La Boom in Woodside, and he'll be damned if he's going to be late.
  16. I don't know if Nimmo senses it, but on the days he starts in center, they seem to be choosing an ever-earlier inning in which they put in Bader or Taylor and move him over to a corner. Granted, it's as often as not about getting the corner guy out of the game as to get Nimmo off center.
  17. It's also pretty great (a) not to see any sign of a letdown after the sweep, ( having all three members of the A-team in the booth to call it, and © have Lindor on our side.
  18. Thanks for sapping your team's momentum, Jarren Duran ... assuming that is your real name.
  19. Mets wearing Friday Night black a little early this week.
  20. Steph Curry in the house!
  21. Lindor could have dodged that plunk.
  22. No, that is a leftover data point from before he was placed on the roster. That's when he would become a minor-league free agent, which is now mostly irrelevant. Good catch. His earliest point of free agency would be following the 2030 season.
  23. Gilbert is not on the roster. Apart from that, it's been a very lost season for him.
  24. I think it's probably just his day to squat.
