1. Alex Young, who isn't terrible, is built like a fullback, strong and chesty. Danny Young is more of a quarterback, slender, wiry, with long slingy limbs.
2. I don't see any easy road ahead, so I think it's just win as much as you can and let the chips fall where they may. Acuña certainly seems to have a thing about tacking on for double-digit runs. He's knocked in the 10th run three straight games now — twice with homers and once with a triple. I'm curious whether the team will give him any outfield appearances if and when Lindor returns.
3. The Brewers have reinserted platinum-selling country recording artist Colin Rea into their rotation. They are only three games behind the (now tied) Dodgers and Phillies for the league's best record, so it looks like they still will have motivation to come at the Mets hard in the last series. Ironically, that becomes more likely if the Mets continue to beat the Phils. But hey, expect nothing to be easy from now going forward. While Ozzie Albies is supposedly all-systems go to return tomorrow, the Philles also expect a returning player, as Austin Hays has been rehabbing and expects to return from a rectent outing with a kidney infection, which apparently isn't always a euphemism for an STD. 4. Yankees lose too, so if you need your happiness tripled, you got it.
5. It's certainly better to beat them with the Phils phiring on most of their cylinders, rather than them falling behind, shrugging it off, and laying down. No easy games are going to come in October.
6. Frayed Knot wrote: =Gwreck post_id=171014 time=1726796688 user_id=56] Diaz is up and I disapprove of this move. I don't like it either.
7. Frayed Knot wrote: Acuna going on contact (or not) was likely decided ahead of time. I didn't mind him going so much as I did maybe ending his season just as it was beginning. Nice inning by Stanek Yeah, he had little chance to get in there. Breaking his wrist wasn't going to help matters. J.D. is the one who needs to get into the attack here.
8. I lost access to the radio feed, but I don't think these Fox guys are bad. It's almost like they're calling a baseball game.
9. [FIMG=500]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/80/Edgardo_Alfonzo_at_Banner_Day_2013.jpg[/FIMG] Oh, Ohtani went six-for-six with three homers? That's nice for him.
10. These Phillies infielders really like to wing the ball sidearmed and falling to the right, Nolan Arrenado-style.
11. The thing is that the Phis came back on the Mets twice last week, so they really have good reason to pour it on. It's like they didn't hear me or something.

13. You never shoulda left, Taijuanski.
14. Oh and by the way, Trea Turner corks.
15. Let's get into the pen.

17. =ashie62 post_id=170968 time=1726789341 user_id=90] Speaking of beams Ohtani is 6-6 2hr 2sb 10 RBI in the ninth
18. That did not look like a double-play ball unless JD Martinez was running. This team is locked in on a lot of levels.
19. McGwire's 62nd was like the one Vientos just hit. Except I think Vientos' was hit harder. Less topspin.
20. Oh, Taijuan. I'm so sorry.
21. Well, that got out in record time. I'm not sure the ball was ever higher than 20 feet in the air.
22. For the first time, I got Fox video and 880's audio to synch up through MLB.tv. I'm so happy.
23. =ashie62 post_id=170937 time=1726776929 user_id=90] Iggy and Acuna are like dance partners in the middle. Hard to break them up I mentioned Marte cause he's so friggin hot. The lefty rightly platooning is preferred but not mandatory
24. Gotta get the lefty outfielders in there. It's the only righty starter they're facing in five games. What's surprising is the middle infield, where Acuña and Iglesias are going again while Eddy Alvarez rides pine.
25. Megill is the harder thrower, which is interesting, because the one thing you expect a young first-rounder to automatically have is power. Peterson has reached 96 once or twice but he averages 93.
