  1. While Johnson and Cashen took a lot from the Orioles organization, I would think Weaver would best be described as something less than a mentor to Davey.

[FIMG=450]https://famewatcher.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/anthony-recker-hot-sexy-baseball-jock.jpg[/FIMG] Sweet win and I appreciated how many stuck out a long cold dreary night for the exciting finish. I also like that since the Jays got rid of Cavan Biggio, they brought up Will Wagner, and effectively maintained their critical quota of second-generation players, even replacing the song of a Hall-of-Famer with the son of a Hall-of-Famer.
  3. This Bassitt guy is alright.
  4. And two times stranded at the drive-in.
  5. John Schneider keeps making me think DJ Stewart is managing the Jays.
  6. Good call by Ron about Soto seeming a bit off balance. I also think he might be one of the guys who eye is so good, that when the ump blows a call, it throws him off kilter a bit for the rest of the at-bat.
  7. Brett Baty has a 7 on his back and another one on his arm, and he looks like he is paying solemn tribute to himself.
  8. His managers and pitching coaches have seemingly always believed he was good.
  9. =Lundy post_id=188775 time=1743824576 user_id=101] I knew I had made a mistake as I walked out my front door.
  10. Bring back Ricky!
  11. I was on the road for this one, following on the cellie. Nice to pop out of the car to visit Michael's Craft Supply with a 5-2 lead and come back to find it suddenly 5-0. That's an odd way to expand a lead.
  12. The ongoing series that has thrilled few to none this spring continues on with the back end of the rotation. We are so far back that Griffin may not actually be a flesh-and-blood Met, but actually a computer-generated character, sent out there so Austin Riley and Kyle Schwarber will have somebody to hit against until Sean Manaea gets back. And then he gets dragged and dropped into a trash folder. But maybe that is all garbage, and the Mets know what they are doing. Professor Griff had a promising enough start to his season, giving up two runs in 5 2/3 innings against the still-formidable Houston Astros, and he was as stalwart a Welsh corgi as you can find during the spring weeks, throwing 14 1/3 innings to the tune of a 1.88 ERA, and that's a tune nobody minds hearing. Add in that he had 22 Griff-Whiffs, with only five walks, and you might want to download that tune to your Zune. Maybe his ridiculously low ZIPs projection is ********. Maybe the Mets know what they are doing. Maybe you know what you are doing when you predict what season lies ahead for Griff Pocaroba. 13. I think the wear on pitchers arms is a secondary concern to the desire to not have to keep the ballpark operating and the power on indefinitely for the odd marathon game.
  14. Keith always gets frustrated with lack of offense and laments seeing guys whose mechanics are off. A few of the things that makes Keith who he is is that he (a) has ADD, ( is impatient, and © hates seeing folks who can't do what he could do.
  15. Well, there's "slumping" and there's "absolute suckitude"--another few games of this, and we will be approaching "absolute suckitude." I have no idea when one becomes the other. These are fuzzy terms. I stand by the notion that someone is always slumping. I fully expected Baty to open the season on fire, and still expect him to, eventually. Baseball is a brutally humbling game.
  16. Somebody is always slumping. I am certain that few expected Baty to open the season on fire, and it took several injuries to get Baty to the starting line at all.
  17. Looking to get on board the HWHTi25? train is a guy who is perhaps third on the Mets bullpen depth chart, possibly fourth, but definitely the big addition from last season. A little big addition, anyhow. He has appeared in two games so far — one good, one gad. That puts him only 47 games behind A.J. Ramos in the great ranking of the Apple Jacks Mets. 18. See, now, if Zvon were here, we would be getting a cool graphic of Huascar Brazoban as a Muppet in a garbage can or something.
  19. Danny Young may not have any saves in his career, but he is currently tied with Johneshwy Fargas as the franchise's all time leader among players wearing 81. But it ain't looking like he's about to extend that lead.
  20. Frayed Knot wrote: The bases-loaded BB, our best scoring play after the bases-loaded HBP. The bases-loaded E6 can be an effective approach also.
  21. That would be a terrible investment.
